(1) Yes Ok to do seated therapy multiple times a day.

(2) A few hz, ( 3 or 4 )  but not too fast or it will stop communication with your brain.

(3) Make sure of you do any standing. Keep the fq low and keep your heels down the whole time. So feet dead flat and equal pressure over your whole foot. Going on your toes will put strain on your knees.

Or even better, turn sideways which will give you a Lineal vibration. It may be softer on the knees until you build up some strength.

(4) Just a standard squat, feet flat will do all that needs to be done. Going up on your toes actually shuts of some of the muscle that needs stimulating.

Good morning, Lloyd  Im back to using my Gravity Revolution 2.  I have been sitting on a high stool with feet flat at the lowest speed of 5 for 20 minutes and my knees felt better afterwards

1.  Can I do it many times a day

2.  Would it be okay to up the speed

3. If so, what would be the max speed I should go to

You had suggested I do a very low speed 110 degree squat as a result of my severe bone on bone medial arthritis.  I did it once and my knee hurt more although the next morning I was okay.  Thinking of focusing on the sitting therapy mentioned above and gradually adding this in.

4.  My daughters feet and ankles hurt her especially if she stands for long.  Advice from GR taking my knees into account was to stand and go up on tiptoes and back down etc for 5 minutes at speed 12.  Im thinking that would help feet and ankles.  Do you have any other thoughts on exercises that would help

Thanks

Hi Lloyd.

Referring back to Peters problem with the Gravity HQ machine, the E02 error, what type of a technician would be required to investigate and fix problems with these vibration machines. Surely maybe a sparky would be able to have a bash at fixing it

Cheers, Michael

Much appreciated lloyd, thanks for that.

Have contacted the HG guys to see if they can help.

Yes a shame what happened, but some people just get burnt out by such a viscous but young industry. As far as I am aware, they had plans to come back, but we can only wait and see.

Am keeping an eye out for something decent for both of you. I know what type I would recommend, it is just a matter of time before one pops up.

Michael Posted On:2018-06-12 17:01:26

Hi Lloyd

Adding onto Peters comments re gravityhq machine, my partner and I are also looking for good quality machine we can buy for ourselves that I can get deliverred to us in Christchurch. I had my heart set on the GravityHQ but if there is no local support, then I would rather steer clear. Can you recommened a good quality machine such as GravityHQ that we can purchase for home use. As per recommendation, we need to get hold of a good quality machine that can easily handle a weight of at least 160kgs.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Cheers, Michael

Hi Lloyd

As an extension to my question regarding HQ Gravity support in NZ, I see you are pretty up to the play with machines available here in NZ. Can you recommend any that also seem to have solid backing and are likely to be around in 5 to 10 years. Pretty annoyed that only 3 years after spending 3000 this company no longer exists and its owners have gone underground.

Peter Posted On:2018-06-02 08:53:21

Hi Lloyd

Partner and I bought an HQ Gravity machine 3 years back which died several months back showing an E02 error. Unable to contact the company or individuals on any of their numbers or web addresses. We are in Hamilton. Any idea who services these in NZ

Hello Donald,

The review guide is so you can ascertain what category a machine is before you part with any money. Actual brands are pretty useless due to most companies just buying any machine available and putting a sticker on it.

Also read this    http://www.vibration-training-advice.com/consumer-guide-and-safety-program/articles-61---70/no-such-thing-as-a-bad-machine    lots of the articles in the consumer side of this site educates and protects you.

If you come back and give me some idea of what you want or can afford, I should be able to nail something down local  for you. And please add any details about yourself if relevant.

Donald Posted On:2018-05-11 04:33:56

Hi,

I was hoping to see some brands listed on the review page, but none of the pictures have links associated with them. Can you suggest any brands for premium speed piviotal types or triplanar motion

Thanks,

D

Yes it can help, but you need precise instructions and follow some rules.

Here is a quick article on general benefits for muscle wasting illnesses. It must be noted it can not cure it, only slow down the progress and give back some muscle control.

Kathy Z Posted On:2018-03-19 06:09:09

My husband was just diagnosed with ALS.  We have a power plate machine at home.  It had belonged to his mother who was quite happy with it.  Since we did not buy it we are unaware of it ability to help him with his muscle loss or if it will be detrimental to him in his condition.  Can you tell me if it will be helpful

Science and Honesty @ Work SH@W Posted On:2018-02-23 19:12:17
Luckily the machines are too weak to really hurt you now ( way weaker than the originals ) . That's why they get people to jump and move around on them, and it takes 1 hour as opposed to the advertised 10 minutes.

( you could not physically do a 45 min workout of a real machine )

Note: Some people are prone to sore knees due to shearing ( uncontrolled sideways movement ) so if that occurs tell them to stop.  Otherwise only their wallets getting damaged.

Anna88 Posted On:2018-02-17 01:19:33

Hi Lloyd,

I have some questions about Powerplate.

Over 45min to 1hr work outs on this machine at a local studio.  I am concerned friends are doing damage.

High hz use on most poses and the fact they are made in China and fall apart and therefore become faulty and potentially harmful.

What should I tell them?

I would do two days on, one day off. Every day will burn you out after a while. That recovery time is VERY important to the process.

Note: The best thing to do if you want to push it, is to learn to hold perfect positions for that 60 seconds. That creates an upward spiral in muscle quality and energy burn.

They usually take a few months to conquer before you even go up one speed ( that's how you know you are doing it properly.)

AC Posted On:2018-01-19 10:18:23

After seeing the good posts and reviews I purchased a CV9 machine and I love it.  I am doing the basic 10 minute pivotal program that is included on the poster that came with it every other day.  Is it too much to do it every day

Di Heap VibePlus Posted On:2017-12-18 00:21:37

There are several machines with that brand name but most common is the CrazyFit. Look at the reviews here

Warning to the Vibration Training industry in Australia regarding.

Walter Matthews  ( Matthews Walter Richard Christian )

Also know as

Legal name .....  Walter Richard Christian Matthews
Walter Matthews
Waldo Matthews
Walty Matthews

Over the last few years Walter Matthews of Perth , previously Auckland N.Z. ( he was with VIBRA-NATION Pty and , VIBRATION CAFE, but now with The  LABODYTORY and changes the name often)  has been making some quite outstanding claims about people he has been in business or worked with.

The accusations are too disturbing to publish here, but needless to say they are designed to ruin any persons reputation that does not want to go along with his highly unethical business practices.

Unfortunately it has been discovered this is a pattern of behavior that has been repeated over many years and many past jobs. Particularly targeting Woman whom he gets into a relationship with and gets to fund his business ventures. Leaving heavy debt behind when he walks out.
3 Vibration Training studios to date.

It would be wise, if you intend to do business with this man. To do some due diligence and get him to produce tax records for all his previous employment. So a proper background check can be done.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2017-12-15 15:43:04
Your best option would be to buy a Lower Speed Pivotal .Note: They still go quite fast, but you will only occasionally use the higher speeds for massage only )You need one with side handle bars.
They were actually designed by Physios in 1996 to help with similar issues of mobility you are dealing with.  There are a number of ways to use those units now, and can be used progressively ( more difficult poses in the future in needed )

The best unit of its kind actually comes from CardioTech in OZ. (CV12 ) But look on TradeMe for a cheaper option if needed.

Note: You really need to be using the unit every day for the best physio results.

If you choose to go this path, I will guide you every step of the way.So even though it is not what you are used to, it is the better long term option for proper functional change.

Where are you in N.Z.

Emma Posted On:2017-12-10 19:59:35

Hi, in New Zealand.

No he can't stand unassisted. We do assisted standing exercises.

Thanks,

Emma

Emma,

Sorry for late reply.

$3000 for a plastic machine from China is a rip off. No matter its use.

A few questions first...

(a) Is your Son able to stand by himself. Or is it all seated therapy.

(b) What country are you in .

Emma Posted On:2017-11-29 20:09:36

Hi There, my son has cp (spastic diplegia)  we just completed an intensive therapy programme overseas where we used

a power plate as part of it every day. We are looking at purchasing a second hand one for daily use in spasticity maintenance. The therapist has recommended the powerplate however after reading this information I am wondering if there are other options which will cost less. The second hand next generation one we are looking at is $3000 (not purchased through him or his company by the way) can you please let me know your thoughts

Thank you

Researchers have finally tested multiple Vibration Training platforms , loaded, unloaded and over a period of 18 months.

Guess what they found. None kept their specs 100% under load. Some worse than others.

Also at least one lost significant performance over time. But it was the one with the most run time. So we have no idea how the others would have been put under the same pressure.

As they state. It basically ruins ALL research done on these machines as it is just too random to know what is effecting what.

Of course we have been writing about this for nearly 15 years. Calling for these exact kinds of tests to be done. But academics in this industry are "a bit slow" to be polite.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2017-11-25 10:56:23

 Suzanne

Please confirm this is the unit we are discussing. ..

If it is, as you can see by its design it a a Lower Energy Lineal unit.

Ok units. I think getting a  faulty one is just a risk with any of these cheaper units.

As far as use and results. If you follow a strict enough program, you will see some results. But "discipline" is the key word here.

With our guidance, it seems like a good buy.

Note: I would ignore all literature and programs that come with it. Most probably 99% pure rubbish and full of fluff poses. ( stuff that does bugger all but feels good )

When you have it, come back on, and we will get you started.

Suzanne Posted On:2017-11-25 09:08:39

Do not want to spend a lot on a vibe plate at this point but interested in a "starter" model. My chiropractor recommended the SDS Whole Body Vibration platform, which he uses at his home. It provides a linear vibration up to 42 hz and gets four stars with 49 comments on Amazon that dont seem like planted reviews, and the complaints seem to be about having been shipped a defective machine which was then promptly replaced. Anybody familiar with this model, pls let me know.

o   Ted Kallmyer and James Foster

Accountability........

Hey guys, check out what you ended up doing to vibrationtraining .net Some kind of porn site. Was that the " new direction " you wanted to take it in ?

Remember it once was a site that helped a lot of people for free globally. We have a great study done by Auckland University on the online community we had created and the purely altruistic work we did for years. It is the 3rd most cited paper on "Online Consumer Engagement" in academia. And I have lectured on it a few times now. And yes I have told the students about your guys behavior.

A site referring machines for zero commission to ethical companies, helping other people get refunds because of the power / reach of the site, and stopping people damaging themselves following dangerous programs. It was a good thing in a sea of snakes.

We helped thousands of people look after themselves better. While cleaning up the industry.

I personally worked hard and used the trust people had in me to gain YOU some paying advertisers, ( 6 x $150 ) while I asked for nothing like a commission,....I only asked for you to continue supporting our mission. Which you said you agreed with. YOU OF COURSE WAS LYING THE WHOLE TIME. .

The truth shows itself.....

.You then repaid us by selling the community out to some scummy sales people, the very people the site was set up to protect the public from. You plagiarized everyone's work, to make it look like you wrote all our articles, so I suppose you could sell it without any issues ?? As we all know If you had wiped everyone's work the site would have been empty. It would have taken years of effort to full the site back up.

Anyway, classy move.( and no I do not believe your weak excuse you accidentally put your name on every single article I and others wrote. You have ZERO credibility )

Then you went on to delete over 3000 consumer advocate comments, and articles that might make people ask too many questions. So they could be scammed easier by the new self professed experts .The site continued to get all the traffic, with so many links on other forums stating it was a safe place to get advice we had put up over the years. What a nice little trap up set for people.

Setting up everyone, the disabled, older people, or just you average person looking for advice. You simply did not give a shit did you ? ( rhetorical question )

And it gets better, the "expert" you choose over us has nothing to do with the industry anymore.
You know the one that stated he was going to use the site to become the " #1 Vibration Training Expert in the World "

Well after stopping all unbiased advice, then helping scaremonger people to get sales,( supporting the sales pitch other companies machines will give you brain damage . A statement proven not true by hundreds of studies ) he dumped his own studio and all the customers he convinced to buy machines. Lots of people looking for him directly...he is long gone.

Important point : He actually used the machines he attacked, in his business and trained on them himself. Something you knew because he had posted it earlier. Until you took those posts down of course..

But wait there is more.....

......the company we tried to expose for selling untested machines, the event you used to justify screwing us over, went on to rip a whole bunch of people off. All the machines either feel apart or caught fire. and people lost their business. The guy ended up being a complete psycho. Refusing to answer emails from pissed customers. With threats common if they did get a response. The community was now powerless to help them, unlike in the past when you had kept your word and supported us. When I had gotten people refunds.

With the #1 Consumer Protection site gone rouge, LOTS of scammers got away with ripping people off. You of course would not have cared about that.

EVERYTHING WE PREDICTED CAME TRUE, AND EVERYTHING YOU GUYS DECIDED TO DO ENDED UP HURTING A LOT OF PEOPLE IN REAL LIFE. .....EXCEPT FOR THE BAD GUYS ....ALL IN THE NAME OF WHAT..... GREED ?

But I suppose that would only concern people with souls and a conscience. You know, morals, ethics etc.... just abstract ideas to the likes of you.

Quite simply, will never forgive you for what you did because I strongly believe in accountability. I believe the world is a worse place when people are not made accountable for their actions. No matter how long it takes.

FYI........ Am expanding quite nicely myself into more countries, and I will be telling the story of our industry at some point. In fact because of some of the breakthrough I have had with our disability work ( as you know I have been doing free disability work since I opened 15 years ago ) it might be sooner than later. And it does make a good story, especially with the independent research to back up the work we were doing.

The good thing is my opinion is not really needed to make you look bad. Just the pure facts and the end result is what counts. Documented History is good like that sometimes. Statistics, dates, names, your first emails to me etc... ... all paint a lovely picture or people being corrupted by greed. No matter who it hurt.

Because lets get this very clear........, NONE of that damage to our industry, or other peoples lives, could have been done so easily without you, .

It was 100% your doing. 100% your fault.

To give those people access to the #1 ranked site of its kind in the world. A ranking achieved by the hard work of good honest people who trusted you, who were there for people they did not even know, day after day for YEARS. You used that effort to shit on them.

As I said at the time, I hope whatever they promised you was worth it. I really hope that prize was worth hurting other people over.

Anyway, don't be surprised to see both your names up in print with my very un-ambiguous opinion of you. And you can do your best to try and explain the un-ambiguous end result of your work.
