Consumer Warning....

Fred Jones to Share His Ten Year Experience with Whole Body Vibration Machines in New Manual

http://www.digitaljournal.com/pr/2662647

http://www.scribd.com/doc/274301824/Vibration-Machines-Core-Technology-and-Rip-Offs

In reality Fred Jones has a history of selling anything to anyone. And being involved and supporting companies selling machines with fake specs and using scare tactics to market their products.

His actual knowledge could fill the back of a postage stamp.

It would seem Dr Clinton Rubin is still looking for the "magic" Fq to build bone at. Thinking it will cure osteoporosis. And still telling people what we have been doing for 12 years is dangerous.

Completely forgetting losing muscle strength and balance is what causes most osteoporosis related deaths. Aka.... No fall , no fractures = no blood clots or infections.

Just for educations sake, the truth about this sorry saga in our industry below....

The first platforms used were driven by speakers and not small motors with counterweights for good reason, Dr Clinton Rubin had done studios on tennis players arms back in 1981. Trying to figure out the exact cause for a 27% increase in bone mass on the playing arm.

Dr Rubin had a theory, and that was bones also responded to noise not just force ( the idea had actually come from two places, purring in animals and bone phones ( early phone prototypes that transmitted sound through the skeletal system )

Idea was simple. If noise traveled so well through bone. Maybe a biological response was possible just with sound like vibrations.

The idea worked , with more mice tests done than any other. A single “Rubin Device” was used during these tests. .

Results. Bone density increase. Loss of body fat ( mice only ) Muscle mass increase ( mice only )

Human tests done straight after on the same devices showed none of the dramatic positive effects. And the best that was found was a slowing down or slight increase in lower limb / spine MBD.

On top of that engineering issues like overheating of the devices was of real concern. ( first recommendation was 20 mins , but that got taken down to 10 mins )

The reason for the multi level failure was simple for designers of VT machines to see. The platforms had not been re-engineered to take the mass of a human. The dampening effect was skewing all results and leading to the failure of the devices themselves. And after 10 mins speakers being restricted in movement often burn out the amp.

Also the contentions issue of focusing solely on Fq as the reason behind the previous animal results. eg... looking for a "magic " Fqs. ( every year they change this magic Fq though )

In simple terms the platforms felt very strong for the mice, but not when a person stood on it.......

Eg…… Test platform specs used on mice had not been directly unscaled to an average human equivalent ( 1.70m tall @ 75kg ) would mean 30hz / 28mm amplitude in human terms.

Important point...... Rubin had stolen the 30hz Fq idea from a Pivotal company called Galileo and another called NEMES by a guy called Dr Bosco.

The contentious issues being this. At 30hz / 28mm these animals were on some extremely serious Vibration Training platforms. Far exceeding anything we build for humans today .

Note: This was pointed out to Rubin's team a number of times. By proper bio-mechanical engineers  They refused to respond. We found out why shortly....
Dr Clinton Rubin in the mean time had released articles and media statements saying anything other than his 30hz / 0.3g would be very damaging to humans. ( he has never retracted this even though subsequent research globally has debunked it )

They compounded their unethical behavior by telling people that simply standing on the machine will increase total body bone mass. Which is a total fabrication and belies all mechanical principles. The dampening effect past the knee is over 90%.

Anyway. Hope you all enjoy reading and watching our industry evolve. Unethical academics and marketers are holding us back. But I have every faith that will just become part of our history.

Thanks Lloyd, have been in touch with Gravity HQ.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2015-08-28 15:28:29
Ben....

Only one of the HyperVibe models is recommended. ( their older model ) It can quite noisy though. So try one before you buy it. They also pop up on TradeMe occasionally. And you are correct in assuming we count the reliability and actions of any company in our recommendations. Those guys change their minds on what is "best"  depending on what they are selling. After being in this industry for 12 years, you get to know the warning signs.

Eg.... Check out what kind of expert support HyperVibe give in N.Z. Last time a checked they had pulled out of N.Z. personally (  HYPERVIBE PTY LTD (3847976) (NZBN: 9429030653177) Struck off Overseas ASIC Company and passed the buck to a standard fitness equipment company, who know bugger all about Vibration Training.

We support  Gravity HQ and their machine. It is bigger and a bit stronger than the competition. They also to date acted like proper industry players, which is usually a good long term sign for the consumer.

For a good all round workout on any of these devices.... follow our Pivotal program on this site .....

Have been researching vibration plates available in NZ and thought I had found a good contender in the Hypervibe Performance but then I found mention of it in your forum and in the blacklist. I get the distinct impression that you’re not keen on them (or at least the company)!. Are you saying that the machine itself is not a great device or is it just the marketing hype and company that puts it on the Blacklist?

I see that Gravity HQ is on your favourites but I can’t seem to find a price for it or why you rate it. Have emailed them.

Are there any other machines that are available in NZ that you would recommend for a mid-50’s male with osteoporosis (I understand that vibration plates have benefits for building bone density) looking for a general fitness workout?

Thanks in anticipation.

To Dr. Gary Gray, FAFS, PT,CEO and Founder of the world-renown Gray Institute.

https://www.grayinstitute.com/

Such a shame the Gray institute has partnered with the first vibration platform company to release thousands of vibration training devices with fake specifications. Then refuse to follow a recall order.

Causing hundreds of studies to be invalid. And thousands of people to not get what they paid for. Or the results a good quality device would have produced.

Bad people. Bad science.Simple equation

Direct quotes from David Basset-Jones who did studies on the Power Plate ……..

“As far as having “engineering reports” done on machines, I would argue that it is the ethical responsibility of the manufacturer to do this testing and report the results. The blame is not on the researchers but the manufactures ”

“As far as my ( Power Plate ) study in 2005, we only measured the accelerations (which were different than the manufacturer’s claimed accelerations). This was done without an individual standing on the plate.”

” I also feel that there are some researchers (myself included) that would like to perform product testing so that consumers can be informed of the true specs.”

“We are testing it loaded and unloaded. Believe it or not, you are not the only one who has wondered if the Power Plate, being made of a softer material than steel, affects the vibration characteristics.”

“I agree that all plates should be tested before (and while, to go above and beyond) they are being used for a research study…..I can only wish that I thought of this prior to doing this study”

“I am more concerned about the errors/limitations of my research than you are. This was years of planning, testing, and analyzing that I put in to this project. I could not account for limitations in the study that I was not aware of at that time.”

Two articles written by academic John Weatherly on Power Plates ethic.. or lack of.

The company DZT Fitness itself is on the Blacklist. For putting fake specifications on their whole range and despite our efforts to get them to change this practice. They covered it up and continue to sell their machines using fake specifications.

On top of that, at trade shows they told people that just standing on it for 10 mins is like working out at the gym for 1 hour. Which is a complete lie.

Overall these types of unethical claims are always signs of bad things to come if something goes wrong.

Eg...
http://forums.redflagdeals.com/399-dzt-ultra-vibe-v2000-portable-machine-dzt-fitness-1132185/

The claim......  " The DZT V7000 is designed and assembled in Canada "

I highly suspect you purchased a black version of this machine which is 100% made in China.........

http://jintuo.en.alibaba.com/productshowimg/1708692329-50381949/New_design_vibrating_hand_massage_machine.html

The machine itself...... a standard Pivotal unit. That can give results. But you need to be following a strict program like the one we have on this site. If the machine lasts long enough that is.

Dear reader

From Walter Richard Christian Matthews

I fully apologise for bombarding this forum with insults and accusations again people I usually consider friends.

I was diagnosed with Bi Polar disorder almost 2 years ago. After talking to my family members here I've admitted that Ive had a relapse again and became delusional. I admit to making up stories about Lloyd Shaw between the 3 of us, the problem is, I make stories up then start to believe them and Lloyd knows I did this in the past when we were younger. My family is supporting me to get more treatment now. Everything I've said to the 3 of us and only us about "Lloyd Shaw" was 100% made up and I realize that I need treatment and will seek this asap

Two recent customer updates for therapy and training using high energy, lineal Vibra-Train brand, vibration machines with the standard IVTRB safety program.

Lady mid 40’s has arthritis especially in hands. Says her hands thaw out and open up each time she does a session (full training program) and stay good for a day or two, starting to claw up again by the next time she returns (training 2-3 times a week). She’s very happy with her overall strength and fitness and more so the stopping of deterioration in her hands.

Young lady (does fulltime university study, graphics, fabric design, fashion – very talented). She has some sort of juvenile arthritis. She started out at Vibra-Train about 3 years ago, being able to do a few assisted therapy/training sessions and having to be ultra-careful not to become over tired. Has done the full training program for about 30 months now regularly three times a week (with occasional short breaks if out of town and occasional 2x week instead of 3 when study life is very busy). She used to struggle a lot to get through the program but now just does it (it’s hard work for everyone).

We have a letter on file from her doctor, a year ago, telling of the marked improvement in her wellbeing and fitness.  Yesterday she told me that she’s still seeing improvement and becoming even stronger. But the big point, she said, was that this year as she’s has a few flare-ups in her condition she’s gotten through those times easier, without the big “crash” she would normally expect and has been able to keep on with her final term of studies and assignments for graduation later in the year. She hasn’t ended up, basically immobile.

Vibra-Train has changed her life so much for the good.

If you read all the comments below the Bulletproof advert it will give you a good idea of what kind of machine it is...... ( you will see my comment at the bottom )

 https://www.bulletproofexec.com/biohacking-fitness-upgrade-whole-body-vibration-training/

As Di Heap pointed out. Not even close to the level we use. But could give results if used strictly enough.

My main concern is anyone attached to that company pretending to be an expert in the discipline on VT.  Pure marketing BS.

Ski

If you type into a word program like Word or Notepad or even an email, then copy and right click to paste to the forum you can put in links and full punctuation. Full function is turned off to prevent attacks on the forum.

The machine Bulletproof Vibe is a medium energy lineal unit. There’s a lot of hype in the marketing in my opinion but I’ve read of positive results. You must follow a full body vibration training program, holding STATIC positions PERFECTLY (get someone to watch you). You haven’t given any info about yourself except to say you do strength training – so with a medium level machine such as Bulletproof you might need to add some weights in the future but start off with static, perfectly held positions – follow the program linked below. Your own bodyweight is enough to give results to start.

Have you done any research on Upgraded Selfs entry into FBV. Cannot seem to paste link into this comment box but will type it for you. upgradedself.com slash products slash bulletproof dash vibe dash whole dash body dash vibration dash plate

I utilize their supplements, but am curious about implementiong this into my strength training regimen.

In that case. Follow the Pivotal program I designed to give you the best chance to get the results you want...

http://www.vibration-training-advice.com/consumer-guide-and-safety-program/lineal-and-pivotal-safety-programs

If your Mother is a fit enough person. There is no reason she can not start the normal program. Just keep all exercise speeds low.

Very Important note:  ALL push-ups, tricep dips, and pelvic ( ab ) exercises are done on slower speeds.

Higher speeds for squats or massages only.

And perfect form is ALWAYS more important than Fq.

sharron Posted On:2015-07-18 23:40:49

I watched the video for people with limited mobility. Thank you. Maybe my mom should start with that. She is pretty fit for her age. She even does a little hiking, etc. But she has had a bit of sciatica. Better to start slow.

I am relieved to here the machine is 15 hz. That is more than enough. I am not sure why it says 1 to 50 on their web page because I can set it anywhere from 1 to 150 on the control panel. If 150 is 15 hz it sure is plenty for me. They sell another machine that identical but has a 600w motor. Does that machine have less hz.

I have limited time to exercise. I would like to lose five pounds and firm up. I want to increase muscle mass if possible to keep my metabolism up. I am not over heavy at present and do have a moderately active lifestyle. I have no regular workout program right now. Can I accomplish all that if this machine is my only work out.

SH@W Science , Honesty @ Work Posted On:2015-07-17 15:09:54
First off. The best way for your Mother to use the machine. Is ALWAYS on its lowest speed. Following this advice here.....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdtbCO6nU5M

As for you. What kind of primary results are you trying to get from the machine ?

Because that will determine how you use it and what advice I can give you.

Note: The specs... Speed Range: 1-50   is fake. It actually has a top Fq speed of approx 15 hz.

sharron Posted On:2015-07-17 04:16:38

I have access to a recently purchased Merax pivot type machine. The specifications of the machine are here

http://www.merax.com/products/VM/ms005405BAA.html

it has 10 programs that cycle up and down through 150 vibration levels. All of the programs last 15 minutes and change speed every 60 seconds. After reading about your safety program for pivotal machines, i am wondering if the Merax is safe at the higher speeds and if standing on it for the 15 minute program is the best way to use it. The Merax has a 1.5 hp motor and 1.3 cm pivot. When set at 150, the highest speed, it will rattle my teeth! However i can bend my knees and move my feet closer together in a bit of a squat, and not have the head shake at all. I can also set the time and speed level manually.

I am a 44 year old woman. My mother also wants to use it. She is 69. Can you recommend speed settings for the safety exercises and any general use guidelines to get us started. We would obviously work up to 15 minutes. How often should we use it.... Thanks

I told the girl doing the interview the full truth about academics being paid by sales based companies to NOT fully research real Vibration Training VS Vibration Physio , and the 5 different categories of units available to the public.

Which answered her questions why what she saw at my studio, and what you said did not match up.

I fully explained and showed how the different products work .And how they created different physical effects. Seeing as I have had Pivotal and Lineal of different levels on the floor since day one I had no problem demonstrating this. .

 http://www.vibration-training-advice.com/consumer-guide-and-safety-program/machine-reviews

I explained clearly how these engineering categories were impossible to confuse with each other for anyone with 3 brain cells to rub together. And it has been my experience only a marketer or a fake expert would have reason to muddy the water...... or pretend not to know the difference.

I told her I had to put up with lots of dirty tricks, like academics forgetting to tell the public VT was only claiming to be a  workout ( anaerobic ) . But saying things like " its not a cardio workout "  just so they can sound like they are protecting people. ( and right on cue you did the same )

Eg.... One is like lifting weights or climbing .. VS .... running or swimming.

Funny how she understood a "workout" can cover many disciplines. But you could not. A "workout" must mean cardio right ? .... Maybe she is way smarter than you ?

Also Pivotal companies like Galiloe / Vibra-Flex spreading the word Lineal will give you brain damage a few years ago. All unethical stuff no real professional would want to be associated with and would speak out against.

I also explained and showed how limited designs could inhibit any progress with individuals. Be they disabled, obese,  used for a simple anaerobic / eccentric workout by anybody or an athlete. But that was also covered up by people with unethical ulterior motives.

The size, shape and function of the machine was very important. Something never denied by people of real science and innovation. But fake experts refused to explore or discuss.
Helping disabled people ..

I showed her after 12 years I still do all disabled work for free...... As opposed to academics who are sponsored by companies telling disabled people " research shows only this 15K Pivotal unit will work for you "  as they take the only machine away. ( When in fact cheaper options were available to them ).

What kind of person would allow that to happen ?

Anyway, great to have an honest and open minded person interview me. Left zero doubt as to what our two different motivations are. And why I don't trust academics.

She of course asked why you hadn't studied on my machines........? I explained why even though you had been invited many years ago. You refused to visit the studio. Which is why you did not know how the machines made in your own country even worked.

I showed her this quote.....

" I am indebted to Novotec who supplied the Galileo machine for the UK experiments and who financially assisted my travel costs to Manchester Metropolitan University "

"  experience and techniques that would not have been possible if I had stayed in New Zealand".  ???

Multiple studies where you are clearly linked to only one company and type of machine over the years. Even though you had the opportunity to access far more.

Questions were asked.........

The final one was put by me to her.. " Think about it, if he actually gave a shit about disabled people. Wouldn't he have explored all options and designs " ....

I made my disgust at what you represent very clear.

Anyway, one less person who thinks you are an expert.

The point of Vibra-Train ( real full body Vibration Training ) is to use your arms and legs evenly in an activity designed to replicate climbing.

The secret was always to look at only using our legs to burn fat, be it walking or running to become fit ( fit = economical ) , as a massive mistake. Only good for times when food was scarce.

Now food is not scarce. Re-introducing full body symmetrical type training is the ONLY logical conclusion.

Check out the research..... the moment we started walking everywhere, our body fat % went up.

First, it is ridiculed.

Second, it is violently opposed.

Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Dear Rannoch Donald , Mark Reifkind , Brian Reeves , Mark Davies , David Britten et. al

People wonder why we cant seem to fight obesity. With so many well intentioned people out there. Well had a good example shown to me over the last two days...

A group of "experts" stated Walking long distances was the best way to burn fat. ( train up to two hours a day ) I and Di Heap pointed out walking actually has quite a few contraindication ( especially for the obese ) and is limited to certain global locations and seasons. To hot, to polluted, too cold etc.....

Quite simply .Nice generic idea. That is also clearly ignored by most people.

My stance was simple...... indoor climbing or VT which replicates climbing for those who cant climb. Will be a better future option. And has a great retention rate.

Their response after a while, was not to tell me how VT was limited, but instead show their true colors. Accusing me of making people sit in vibration chairs, or just stand on a vibration plate to lose weight. Selling the "no effort" workout. That cant possible help with fat lose.

Then on Rannoch Donalds own site, continues to infer I sell machines like all the marketers that also sell coffee. And put up videos like this to deliberately mislead people as to what we do...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ue6l7P5lROY

Also calling me this....... JAFA = Derogatory term for people selling vibro plate crap in the biggest city in NZ (Just Another Fucking Aucklander)

Along with pictures of sex toys.

Making sure I could not defend myself by blocking me.

All this AFTER I showed them videos and a website of what we actually do. So you know it was pure dishonesty and not confusion or lack of education. After they knew about fake machines being sold to vulnerable people and how hard I had worked to help the consumer not get ripped off.

After they had a chance to read an article by an academic backing up all those claims.

I always said obesity will never be cured by dishonesty. I stand by that comment more every day.

These bunch of idiots unfortunately represent a large majority of people giving out half assed advice. And when anyone challenges them with a new idea that is beyond them. They at first pretend to be polite, but then resort to bullying or lying to protect their IQ patch.

End note:  They also pulled out the old. " But there is not enough research.". Fair call. Except VT is only a form of exercise. And not one of them could honestly tell me they had researched any form of exercise before they did it..

They relied on experience, perceived exertion and personal results  ...... Funny that. Just like the rest of us laypeople.

Yes. Sorry the review guide is for "category / type " of products available. We do not list brands as they change names all the time. And with about 150 brands available.... I am sure you could see the futility of that.

But the categories are always accurate

As you have worked out. You need a Higher Energy Lineal unit.

I will contact Body Shaker and see what is up. I only emailed then a few weeks ago. And got an answer. But yes they are the most  "solid" unit available in Europe. Old school but built like brick shit houses.

I will also see what new feedback I can get about TrueVibe ( designed around the steel power plates of old )

AK Posted On:2015-04-28 13:37:08

Hello,

Just recently discovered vibration training and started investigating and reading up on it and came across your site.

I live in Europe and looking for a  good lineal machine, my problem is i really cant get anywhere in your review section, i see the thumbnails but they are no links to reviews of the depicted machines so no infos to be had there. After that checked the section of recommended machines, only entry for europe were the Netherland based company making the Bodyshaker, tried to mail them but mail failed to be delivered with the error message saying their mail box is full. So any idea if they are out of business also any clue about other trust worthy manufacturers i can contact for a sturdy machine that would be able to handle a high weight load ?

Any and all help appreciated

Millie....

Firstly. Any advice you take. Make sure it is off someone who has actually run a commercial operation before. Centered on weight loss etc... not Physio work.

Companies like HyperVibe are really sales only.  Take any programs or advice with a pinch of salt.

The basic truth...

No matter what the machine. Pivotal or Lineal. It is the numbers and positions that count.

Eg......  Even if the unit was going only 10 hz. That equates to 600 reps per minute.  If the larger muscles in the body are taken to complete fatigue ( usually a "60 second perfect  position" should do this. Anything under 60 seconds will not give the same effect ) And you do 2 - 4 minutes all up during the program. That is super high rep territory. No way the muscles will get bigger at those numbers.

Its why body builders hate Vibration Training.

Note: Do not count any of the "fluff" positions. These are some of the silly ones you see on some of the programs sold with machines. Like one foot on the machine standing sideways etc......

Follow the Pivotal program Di Heap recommended. And you cant really go wrong.

Di Heap/VibePlus Posted On:2015-04-23 12:14:21

Millie

Generally speaking, vibration training does not cause growth in muscle girth, it doesn’t make you big – it makes you strong.  Also female (I’m assuming Millie is female) hormones hold muscle size/growth back.. that said, some people gain some size no matter what they do and will gain a little with vibration training;  but less than with a heavy, low rep weights program .

Did you not receive any training or program information when you bought your machine? Most companies supply this; maybe you bought re-sale.

Here’s a link to a whole body program for Pivotal Machines. What it doesn’t tell you is the exact speeds to use as that will differ by machine brand and your current fitness and health level. Please ensure you know what speeds to use. Note well that arm positions are at very low intensity, much less than legs. Ask us for more help if you need it.

I suggest you use a 2cm approx thick, rubber mat on the platform for arm positions, for comfort.
