But Darren,

Just to give you a chance to prove me wrong. Tell us why the Power Plate Commercial is so good.

As far as I can tell, its the same old machine design. They are still even using straps or cables. They seem years behind even my first machine. But maybe I am wrong.

Also note: The founder of Power Plate left the company and will now only work with steel. Openly rubbishing plastic as inferior.

All ears for you to make your case.

PS.  These are old designs I challenged PP to better. ...still waiting

To Darren ( no last name troll. Funny how all PP do that ? Zero conviction )

Yes I am sure I could get more done if I was willing to lie my ass off for a living. But I do not want to peddle BS or be some desperate parasite. So I left Power Plate.

I also swore to protect the consumer. PP is only one company I expose.

As for PP business model. Its been globally liquidated so many times now I have lost count. My company remains intact with all its original upper management.

Studios.....  They set people up to fail. Then ran away. Call me what you want, but I am no greed driven coward.

PS.  If Power Plate had never lied to people out of greed. They wouldn't be getting such a hard time.  I gave them that chance a long time ago. They deserve any negative publicity they get.

Di Heap/Vibra-Train Instructor Posted On:2015-03-14 00:50:31

Darren from Australia

I’m betting you’ve never done a fully supervised training session on a Vibra-Train brand machine.

You’ve obviously never asked the manufacturing price (they are not sold to the public) and you haven’t got the nous to figure out how much solid steel (that Vibra-Train uses) costs.

You might have heard some gossip or something - what evidence do you have that half of Vibra-Train businesses failed, and those that closed, do you know the reasons? Do you know how the Vibra-Train business model works - obviously not!

Do you have any idea how many PowerPlate studios opened in New Zealand and how many there are now? You do know of course, that PowerPlate NZ was liquidated in Oct, 2007 and has popped up in various reincarnations since, each time to die again.

“too much talk, not enough work, Lloyd” - you have no idea how much work is put into the Vibra-Train business and of course into Vibration Training as a whole.

To people who haven’t a clue, I invite them to the Auckland studio for a free session, where in 15 minutes I can change their lack of knowledge plus have their body seriously challenged.

For you, I wouldn’t waste my time. I have no tolerance for people who make unsubstantiated claims and insults but don’t even sign their full name to their post.

Darren Posted On:2015-03-13 20:40:51

You are welcome to your opioion of Powerplate Lloyd and the latest Powerplate commercial machines are far in advance of anything you have on offer, your machines appear like they are made for a few thousand dollars. You spend so much time talking about vibration training you forget to get on with running your own business and growing it, its no wonder more than half of your studios have failed since you began.  Too much talk not enough work Lloyd

Do not have link handy but go to youtube.com and type "CrossFit The Good Fight" as search.  You will see how corrupt these organizations like NSCA, ACSM, and Richard Beddies Reps are.  They are all connected and doing the same thing. It is odd to me the NSCA is concerned with licensing personal trainers but not strength and conditioning coaches with athletic departments at universities etc.  The reason is there is not the dollars involved as there are relatively few strength and conditioning coaches compared to personal trainers.  The NSCA, truth be told, has never really cared much about athletes and coaches.  They care about money.

Another product based on Vibration hitting the market soon.

Nothing like what I do. But at least overall consumers are starting to understand vibration tech is safe and effective.

A big fight is coming. The goal. To expose the parasites of the fitness industry and their relationships with companies that have sold fake VT machines to the public.

We cant fight obesity with dishonesty.

Again. Thousands of "fake experts" giving out complete BS advice globally. That effected millions of peoples health and potentially killed or shortended the lives of millions.

But not one will be brought to account. Why is that ?

Taken from another site, but a comment worth reading anyway.

Power Plate still out there making the industry look like a scam.

  1. Diana Trimble said,

It is bogus and the people above who are skeptical are correct. There is no scientific evidence for it and I demanded a refund from a studio near where I live after doing 5 of 12 sessions, feeling zero happening in any of my target zones and just soreness in stupid areas like the inner hip joint, from the over-stretching exercises the trainers did.

  2.  I then did some research and found that there is absolutely no evidence to support the efficacy of this system. But my own experience means even more than that - I am an experienced exerciser and I know what it feels like to tone up. The fraudulent nature of the whole thing became even more clear when I realized that although their website said nothing about a nutritional theory, the trainers were totally pushing low-carb. They even went so far as to call the Slimtech suction treadmill (I did a package with that plus the Powerplate) a “low carb machine” - which is an obviously meaningless statement. Now if you do an extreme low carb diet, even with no exercise at all, you will still lose weight in the short-term. It looks like they were getting some people to lose weight in this way and then crediting the machine. I had no intention of doing the low carb diet and know for a fact that I can lose weight without doing that, just eating normally, and exercising enough.

  3.  When I confronted them they banned me from the studio.

Thanks. The one I was looking at is called the portable model, but it looks like your criticisms apply to it equally as well, if not moreso.

Very helpful. I appreciate it.

Oh, and cutting and pasting doesnt work either for me FWIW.

Thanks again.

Hello Alexander   .... the unit above is the correct one ?

As per our review

http://www.vibration-training-advice.com/consumer-guide-and-safety-program/machine-reviews

It would be classified as a Medium Energy Lineal. Except it is actually lower rated than that. Because as you can read in the description, the vibrations are as random as hell.

They try to make it sound cool ...3D , Spiral etc....  just means uncontrolled.

Good for balance and circulation. And if used VERY strictly might give some weight loss results. But so much energy being lost by a bad design, means no matter how big the motors. Its uses are limited.

PS....  Type up your message into another program ( eg  ..word or email ) and then you can post all characters.

alexander Posted On:2015-02-03 11:19:34

I am trying to find info on the company SDS Fitness. There is a portable machine which, based on what I have read here, might be too good to be true for the price.

I cannot type links into this message box, but if you search the amazon.com USA site for 1500W SDS vibration, there is a dual motor device available for roughly 320US dollars including shipping. Amazon also carries an earlier, less powerful 500W SDS model which has gotten positive reviews, but does not meet the criteria of a worthwhile machine according to the articles I have read here. But if SDS even has a website, I am not finding it.

Has anyone here heard anything good or bad about this company... oh, I apparently cannot post question marks or apostrophes either. Or colons or parentheses, otherwise I would make a smiley face here.

Thanks for all of the info.

This is how I suspect most Vibration Training papers on Power Plates were / are accepted. No peer review process to ask the hard questions.

It would seem a lot of the good boxes are trying to tidy things up. And cool down the cultish aspect of it. Which I think is important if it wants to mature and stay popular.

I notice Richard Beddie is again quoted as some kind of expert on the subject, even though he is a documented liar on all things CrossFit related  ..

My comments half way down.....

Organic hits too John .

Other companies only got hits from SEO articles and heavy advertising.

Which means as soon as they stop adverting. They drop off the first page really fast.

That old video is great. It has well over 80,000 views and was done 4 years ago or so.  Thank you for bringing truth to people Lloyd.

Writing a new article on Hypervibe and Mr Murray Seaton for our history section.

It will include the fake specs issues, designed / made in Australia claims. And scare tactics marketing and personal bullying issues and complaints we have had. Dangerous advice advertised etc.. plus a few new trust issues .

Basically from day one till now.

If anyone has any information that they think the consumer needs to know before buying a product off this company / man. Even if it includes information from before he set up Hypervibe. Please feel free to contact me and tell me your story.

Old Video we did years ago.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPUQji9RPsA

Strange how the truth is like a rock.

Academics opinion change all the time. Con-artists change their sales pitch depending what they are selling.

Funny how you dont have to lie or exaggerate when you are right .

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-12-18 17:01:13

One of the many basically useless types of articles that get published in our National papers from academics making "new" discoveries. Just by opening their mouths it gets coverage.

A quote from Ruben Meerman , his  "  contribution to the war on obesity "

Note: ZERO explanation on how anaerobic work burns fat . Which is the primary form of exercise for most humans. And ALL primates.

Not even an explanation or theory of anaerobic VS aerobic lung output. And he wants to add this to schools curriculum ?

Now not saying his work is not valid on a very basic level. But it gives no practical advice beyond the old failed advice of " eat less, move more "

Sorry mate. But we have to be way smarter than that to fight the obesity crisis.

Thankyou John.

As you point out, hard work and honesty. No BS required or tolerated if you are working at the coal face of the industry.

A prediction of opposite behavior.....

I believe we are going to see HyperVibe and Murray Seaton do its best to scrub the internet of its promised Galaxy commercial model. And indeed pretend that companies dodgy history of making outlandish claims will disappear also.

I am here to make sure dodgy and hollow promises are NEVER forgotten. As they bring our industry into disrepute.

John Posted On:2014-12-15 19:21:37

Congrats on the Innovation Award Lloyd.  It shows hard work and honesty are recognized eventually.

A good article on how many academics / researchers falsify / exaggerate or in the case of our industry hide their good old fashioned stupidity in press releases...

http://www.bmj.com/content/349/bmj.g7465

Why do they do this. All about greed and reputation. It helps them scam more grant money to further their non useful careers.
