On the eve of a very cool announcement, I would like to reflect on why I do not trust most industry players.

This one directed at HyperVibe of Australia. In particular Mr Murray Seaton.  You loudly proclaim to the world over half a decade ago, you had designed and built a fully Australian made machine from scratch. I told you, I would respect you immensely if that was the truth.

I understand you even took public money to make this happen.

After delay after excuse, you prance into my studio some years ago claiming it was "a month away".

If your word is your bond My Murray Seaton , you word is meaningless...... you are in my opinion a FAKE.

Important point...... I managed to design and build my first prototype model in 4 months. for $6,000. Funding it all myself. That prototype went into production soon after. And is still being used now to run studios 10 years later.
I did not take one cent off the taxpayer.

It is my understanding you took approx 24 times that amount of money and time to come up with NOTHING.

So that is how much respect you get.

Hello vibration training world,

Dhyana from Gravityhq here.

Gravityhq just did the show at Hamilton with the Gravity Revolution.  It was fun as always, and as well as talking to new customers we heard from many of our old customers and helped them with their ongoing questions.

Each time we do this there is a wave of similar questions from a range of different people. It is an odd phenomenon, but what we will endeavour to do is not only answer the questions on the stand, but put them forward online to help other people with the same thoughts.

The common question this show has been similar to the following: “ with all the best intention in the world, why am I not motivated enough to use my vibration machine daily–EVEN THOUGH IT ONLY TAKES AROUND TEN MINUTES A DAY!!?”

There is an answer and it is NOT because we are lazy.  Also, there are some simple steps to help get over it too.

My personal training background originated in the “go hard or go home” arena.

In fact, I would fire clients who would not work hard enough for me!

LIFE has a way of developing us and building our character in unusual ways, and through a series of painful and uncomfortable events, I learned that this approach is actually often more harmful than helpful in the true “HEALTH” of the human body and mind.

I now focus on allowing change in the body by providing a progressive and uncomplicated “exercise” demand on it that doesn’t challenge my mental fatigue at any time of the day or night.

When people have a session with us at a show, they are often blown away with how their body feels after.  They walk taller, feel lighter and can immediately see why they would want the Revolution at home – THEN they picture the treadmill, their exercise bike or rower that is gathering dust in the corner and wonder if this will end up the same way…

IF DONE THE FOLLOWING WAY, YOUR PIVOTAL VIBRATION TRAINING MACHINE WILL NEVER BECOME A CLOTHES HORSE OR DUST GATHERER IN THE CORNER!

So, QUESTION 1 : “how will I stay motivated to use my vibration machine when I am too tired after work for any exercise?”

This is a really simple one.  Let’s imagine for the first week of having your new vibration machine at home that you are not even going to think about “exercise” on your machine, but you are going to use it to ease your drained body and just make yourself feel good.

EVERY DAY come home, dump your gear wherever, slip your shoes off and JUST MASSAGE your body.  With our Revolution, customers love to literally lean on the handles (they are steel and can take the load)

Massage on a proper pivotal machine means below 12hz – don’t worry about programs, just on manual.  That way you can change the speed yourself if your body wakes up and wants a little more…this does happen J

It can even mean just sitting – make sure you are as far back to the post as possible with your lower back touching the post, have your legs straight out in front, feet apart and just flop them. Go as long as you like on the most comfortable speed for you.   Lean back, close your eyes and breathe.

**neither of these are actual exercise in the load bearing sense of the term, so do as little as 2 minutes and as many as 30 if you want in either of these positions.  This is also great after other training for recovery by the way

By doing just this, you will feel great after every session and coming home to your machine becomes something you look forward to, not another chore to add to your busy day.

It is known as ANCHORING.  And what we are anchoring in this situation is simply the following:

·        When I get home from work, my vibration machine makes me feel better

·        When I am feeling stressed, my vibration machine will ease me

·        When I don’t have time – I can just do 2 minutes and still feel better

·        My vibration machine helps me recover and ease my aches

You see?

Simple.

Now you have created a space that you no longer want to avoid.  A space that becomes something you actually look forward too.

After about a week of this, your body will ask for more, then add the speeds (not movement yet) for another week or so, after which you may find your body asks for more of a challenge and you can add in the functional movements on your charts, or programs written for you.

You are now doing it because you want to, not because you have to, it is no longer a chore to use your machine, it is a pleasure.

And the “exercise” part (higher speeds and movement added) you only need every second day on a premium speed pivotal vibration machine.

Every other day is just about feeling good.

THIS IS HOW YOUR PIVOTALVIBRATION MACHINE IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER FITNESS EQUIPMENT AT HOME.

1.     It is time effective

2.     Results are really fast if used correctly

3.     It is easy to do

4.     You can do it in your socks and jammies (or your work gear if need be)

5.     You will use it because you want to – not have to…

It won’t end up gathering dust, and your body will become better than ever with the consistent use.

Enjoy!

Cheers

And if you want to ask me questions specifically you can email me on info@gravityhq.co.nz also.  (NOTE I am not a specialist in linear training – so just pivotal questions please)

i am happy to help

A review on the LIFEBACK Vibration Therapy Pad.

This is a pure therapy unit – a small flat platform 40 x 30cm, about 5cm thick.  It has a robust, rubberised surface and a carry handle for easily moving it (weighs about 6Kg).  The LIFEBACK is used for gentle circulation and mobility help and to massage injured body parts (amongst other benefits).  It gives vertical (lineal) vibration at 50Hz using 8 little motors in the platform. The timer can be set to 10 minutes and auto switches off. The LIFEBACK is available in Australia mostly (It can be available in New Zealand) and maybe other countries. I used a LIFEBACK a few years ago after I’d had surgery (for circulation to help with healing before I was fully mobile again).

Over the weekend I took a unit to another city to see if my elderly mother-in-law would use it.  It’s ideal but explaining to an independent older lady that it would help her circulation and even improve bone density over time, knowing her I’d guessed she might not be very receptive. She believes she’s busy and okay and doesn’t need “help”.  I encouraged her to put her feet on the pad whilst sitting in an armchair and she liked it. We thought though, she wouldn’t use once we’d left.

My husband’s brother visited. He’s a rural mail contractor and has back and shoulder aches from years of heavy lifting and driving a big van on rough unsealed roads. He asked if the LIFEBACK would help (he’s having physiotherapy and finding it hard to find time.  He used the LIFEBACK pad for 10 minutes on his back, 10 minutes on one shoulder back (sitting on couch that has straight back, with a firm cushion under the pad to support it as he wasn’t comfortable lying down on the floor which would be another way), then 10 minutes into a painful area of one arm – he wanted more!

The pure vibration therapy was very effective at pain reduction, massage and relaxation of the always painful areas.

(Mother-in-law then wanted to use the LIFEBACK - thinking she was missing out, maybe?)

Very hard to compare a Lineal from a Pivotal. You have to do some some "try before you buy " due diligence.

Note" Be vary wary of " pop up studios" that sell machines.  They have a long tradition of just closing up one day with no warning and leaving town look for the next victims. Once they think sales have dried up from the customer base and complaints start coming in.

David J Posted On:2014-04-02 17:44:26

Lloyd,

Well the Zen Pro 6920 is the best I have found so far in any gym in the Portland area. If I buy a machine for home do you think the Cardiotech CV9 would be better than the Zen Pro 6920. Or do you recommend another machine.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-04-02 17:10:06

David J...

Both products you mention would be considered home / light Pro work. Definitely not commercial.

To get any results you will need to know exactly what you are doing. Be very strict, and these results will be a lot slower than heavier units will give.

So not great. But could be worse.

Note:  The Zen Pro 6920 would be comparable to a Power Plate.

David J Posted On:2014-03-31 18:01:44

I found a massage therapy studio in Portland Oregon that has both pivotal and lineal machines. The lineal machines are made by Power Vibe. Their models are Zen Pro 5910 an Zen Pro 6920. The pivotal machine  is a Vibramax Pro 8. Please let me know if you have any opinions on these machines.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-03-28 18:23:00

A word to the real Vibration Training community.

When being attacked by a member of the fitness community or an academic over the validity of what we are doing. Remember Dr William House's ( inventor of the cochlear implant )  favorite quote.....

"Everything I did in my life that was worthwhile, I caught hell for."

The experts did everything they could to stop his work from being taken seriously. Make no mistake, if they had it their way, these scenes would never have happened  ......

Search youtube ......   cochlear implant reactions

Always remember , we are the good guys. The people who do not want change are our ignorant / self endorsing experts / greed driven enemy. Never confuse them for people who genuinely want to help others.

New article: a comparison of two training machines for the home user

Pivotal Vibration Machines – Cardiotech CV9 versus Hypervibe Performance – An Update

http://www.vibeplus.com/?p=3708

Di Heap/VibePlus Posted On:2014-03-26 10:19:22

BK

For fitness training there are 3 high-speed pivotal machines you can look into – The Cardiotech CV9 (my preferred machine. I’m completing a review article today which I’ll link here soon), The Hypervibe Performance (and there are other machines looking identical but the Hypervibe  is modified), and a newer N.Z. brand called the Gravity Revolution. If Lloyd knows of others I’m sure he’ll add them. Be careful of low-speed pivotals if you’re after a training machine; Crazyfit, VibroMax etc – they are therapy machines with gentle activation.

Each of the 3 brands listed is suitable for serious home training. When turned up in speed they have a feel somewhat similar (not the same) as a lineal machine. Look into the features  of each machine and the after-sales backup .Get any warranty in writing.  Be careful to follow a good program – different settings/speeds for different poses on a pivotal (arms cannot safely be trained at top speed). http://www.vibration-training-advice.com/consumer-guide-and-safety-program/lineal-and-pivotal-safety-programs

If you read the article Lloyd listed you’ll get some understanding of the reasons a lineal machine isn’t suitable in an apartment.  For one thing your walls act as giant speakers – poor neighbours get way more noise than you, plus the “quake” effect isn’t good on masonry. You could be up for a huge repair bill! As Lloyd said there’s ways around it which he’s implemented in some Vibra-Train studio situations where that’s the only choice but these changes in the machine aren’t currently available to home users. Just putting a thick mat under the machine is never enough!

Bk Posted On:2014-03-25 17:51:08

Thank you for that valuable information, Lloyd. I would love to own one of your machines. But unfortunately you dont sell them for home use. So pivotal it is. So it would seem that cardiotech is my best option. Do you have any other brand or brands to recommend?

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-03-25 15:04:33
BK......  Pivotal would be your only logical conclusion

The main problem with Lineal is the manufacturers who make and sell them do not care about this limitation. They are just cheap copies of old units.

If they put money into R&D  It  could be solved like I did with mine.

Bk Posted On:2014-03-25 14:19:12

Di Heap/VibePlus,

Because of the vibrations? I thought there would be something to be done to eliminate or minimize the vibrations. So the lineal machine creates more vibration than pivotal? Anyways, I live in the Philippines. Thank you so much for the information.

Di Heap/VibePlus Posted On:2014-03-25 13:53:30

BK, We dont recommend a lineal machine for you

Did you read the article linked below?

Your only choice is a pivotal.  If you tell us where you live we might be able to suggest someone to help you decide on a machine that’s suited to your needs.

Bk Posted On:2014-03-25 13:43:53

Hi,

I emailed to BodyShaker to inquire about their product but they haven't replied to me. What other lineal machine brands can you recommend?

Thank you.

Bk

Bk Posted On:2014-03-22 23:30:30

Hello everybody,

Good day! I need your opinion on one thing. I am planning on purchasing a lineal machine. The thing is I live in a duplex style house/apartment. The units are connected and separated only by wall. My question is, does the lineal machine create vibrations or commotions that could possibly disturb our neighbors?

Thank you. Any feedback is appreciated.

Just thought you guys might like to see my comparison between the CV9 & Hypervibe Performance!

As mentioned, I have had extensive experience with both machines...

Please find the YouTube link below, I apologize for the terrible presentation on my part, I could never be an actor!!!

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-03-18 16:34:01

Off topic.... But we have seen this kind of behavior with Power Plate and HyperVibe.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/farming/dairy/9840448/Parmalat-boss-hits-out-at-a2-milk

In our industry it was demonizing other brands or types of vibration in the pursuit of greed. Both "suggesting" other types of machines may hurt, or not be that good for you, in official publicly released advertising.

In my opinion,  just filthy marketing scumbags that need to be purged from our industry. But I suppose they will just go and sell milk instead.

David J Posted On:2014-03-17 17:52:48

Thanks for responding so quickly, both of you. It is funny that it was called "shake and bake" because that is what I told my wife I was doing at the gym.

I am 54 years old and in fair shape. The past few years I have lost a lot of my fitness due to spending more time at work and less time at the gym. I am about 15 pounds overweight but what I want is to get back to feeling good from more regular workouts. I want to feel strong and have more energy for work, family, and recreation. Stress has also been more of a factor the past few years and my blood pressure has been on the high side.

I would prefer to try vibration training at a gym until I know it is something that helps me stay fit and I like enough to keep using it. If it works for me then I may want to buy a good machine for convenience. My budget would be around 2000 US dollars.

Thanks for your advice.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-03-17 16:31:20

The original idea for putting a vibration therapy machine in the bottom of a sunbed was a joke / scam by a couple of guys from S.A. I know them. I  thought they went under years ago. But I know a place in the UK that tried the same thing with low quality Pivotal machines and Sunbeds called "Shake and Bake " ( not joking ) Cant believe it is still being sold as Vibration Training now in the U.S.

I mean even if the machine worked properly, you cant even do any of the required exercise poses in that tiny booth.

See Pivotal program here....

http://www.vibration-training-advice.com/consumer-guide-and-safety-program/lineal-and-pivotal-safety-programs

Maybe pose #1  ?  But that is pure therapy. Not even designed as a workout of any kind.

Anyway. Will look into what is around you. And get back with some advice.

Note Dr Mercola was only refering to Lineal platforms. And even he was pushing a fake.

Di Heap/VibePlus Posted On:2014-03-17 09:40:47

The Beauty Angel appears to be, as the name suggests, a beauty product combining light therapy with gentle therapy vibration.  It’s NOT a fitness or strength training machine.  I watched their YouTube video and seeing the very gentle vibration I’d say the claims they make of weight-loss, muscle training and calorie consumption are advertising hyperbole.

So it depends what you are looking for…

Can you please tell us more about yourself, things like your age, fitness level, health and special needs, weight/fat loss needs etc. And what you want to achieve?

Do you want to use a gym as well as using a vibration machine / use a gym quality machine? Or do you prefer to buy a machine for home use and what price range would be okay?

David J Posted On:2014-03-17 08:23:08

Hi,

I live in the US, Portland, Oregon. I originally heard about vibration training benefits a few years ago from an article on mercola.com. I agree with some of articles from Dr Mercola but not all. At that time I could not find any local gyms that had vibration machines so instead I bought a good quality rebounder from Needak. Recently a new gym opened in my area called Planet Fitness which has a machine called Beauty Angel CVT 42 with vibra shape. It combines light therapy with side alternating vibrations. I am on a trial membership with this new gym so I can try the Beauty Angel vibration machine. I tried to find reviews of the Beauty Angel on the Internet but did not find anything but I stumbled across an article on vibration training and saw comments from Lloyd Shaw that looked interesting.

My quesitons...

1. Do you know of any trustworthy reviews on the Beauty Angel CVT 42 machine.

2. Do you know of any gyms in the Portland, Oregon area that have good vibration machines.

Thanks,

David

Just to clarify why we do not trust 99% of academics involved in this industry. It simply reflects other disciplines.

This is a highly regarded opinion of the one of the 1% of honest researchers.

http://www.bioedge.org/index.php/bioethics/bioethics_article/10840/#.UvjNysG-Rws.email

We still have fake / unethical experts and engineers involved in research into Vibration Training. It is one of my goals to help expose these scammers for what they are.... and to build even better machines they could only dream of.  The kind of machines they never wanted you too see.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-02-10 21:43:46

Mitch...

Yes. If used properly it is a very effective product. But note if you want to tone on the machine ( train to burn fat ) , the strictness of the poses is everything.

Mitch Posted On:2014-02-10 17:51:55

Do you recommend the hyper gravity HQ for home use to tone

John Posted On:2014-02-05 04:34:06

The strengthperformance.com site is back up now after being down for approximately two weeks.  It is on the Degree Programs discussion where I mentioned Power Plate.  There is also an NSCA discussion.  It does not appear that they deleted anything.  I thought it may have disappeared like the Power Plate discussions we had on the old Core Performance forum.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-02-01 12:22:17

John.....

Lots of pretenders will start drifting away from the industry this year.  Just watch.

My main focus will remain moving the industry forward while exposing the scammers at the same time. Bit of a balancing act, but worth the effort long term.

Cant believe so many companies have fakes at the helm who cant deliver on basic promises like building better machines. More than a few "prototypes" have ended up just disappointing.  One conversation with these pretenders and its obvious to me they are full of it. But they are scammers, so some will follow for a while I suppose...

But it is only a matter of time before everyone who is serious about making a living in this industry wises up and start demanding answers.

So far this year I have already had a few emails from parties who had been turned against me in the past by those with ulterior motives. ( One from 2004 ).  I don't bother with the "I told you so speech " because by then it is a mute point. It is all about the future.

Just glad their passion for what we are trying to do has not been completely squashed by those who were solely driven by greed.

John Posted On:2014-01-31 06:03:20

It looks like strengthperformance.com went under not renewing their domain name.  On this site I reported unethical practices like Power Plate and the NSCA founder hiring a former football player who had used steroids as Coordinator of Performance Education while the founder was on the task force for the NSCAs first Professional Standards and Guidelines document.  It does not get much more hypocritical than this. I invited NSCA President Dr. Steve Fleck and the NSCA Board of Directors on the discussion multiple times.  The dodgy Dr. Fleck and the BOD would never come on the discussion.  Now, it all apparently just DISAPPEARED into thin air.

We have covered this topic before. With us questioning not only the shows outcomes in truly fighting obesity. But here in N.Z. a few of the "star trainers" have gone on to have obesity issues of their own. With the same question coming up time and again...

If the genetically gifted trainers cant keep up the charade / punishing regime they demand of others. What kind of message are they sending the target obese demographic ?
