My comments half way down.....

Organic hits too John .

Other companies only got hits from SEO articles and heavy advertising.

Which means as soon as they stop adverting. They drop off the first page really fast.

That old video is great. It has well over 80,000 views and was done 4 years ago or so.  Thank you for bringing truth to people Lloyd.

Writing a new article on Hypervibe and Mr Murray Seaton for our history section.

It will include the fake specs issues, designed / made in Australia claims. And scare tactics marketing and personal bullying issues and complaints we have had. Dangerous advice advertised etc.. plus a few new trust issues .

Basically from day one till now.

If anyone has any information that they think the consumer needs to know before buying a product off this company / man. Even if it includes information from before he set up Hypervibe. Please feel free to contact me and tell me your story.

Old Video we did years ago.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPUQji9RPsA

Strange how the truth is like a rock.

Academics opinion change all the time. Con-artists change their sales pitch depending what they are selling.

Funny how you dont have to lie or exaggerate when you are right .

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-12-18 17:01:13

One of the many basically useless types of articles that get published in our National papers from academics making "new" discoveries. Just by opening their mouths it gets coverage.

A quote from Ruben Meerman , his  "  contribution to the war on obesity "

Note: ZERO explanation on how anaerobic work burns fat . Which is the primary form of exercise for most humans. And ALL primates.

Not even an explanation or theory of anaerobic VS aerobic lung output. And he wants to add this to schools curriculum ?

Now not saying his work is not valid on a very basic level. But it gives no practical advice beyond the old failed advice of " eat less, move more "

Sorry mate. But we have to be way smarter than that to fight the obesity crisis.

Thankyou John.

As you point out, hard work and honesty. No BS required or tolerated if you are working at the coal face of the industry.

A prediction of opposite behavior.....

I believe we are going to see HyperVibe and Murray Seaton do its best to scrub the internet of its promised Galaxy commercial model. And indeed pretend that companies dodgy history of making outlandish claims will disappear also.

I am here to make sure dodgy and hollow promises are NEVER forgotten. As they bring our industry into disrepute.

John Posted On:2014-12-15 19:21:37

Congrats on the Innovation Award Lloyd.  It shows hard work and honesty are recognized eventually.

A good article on how many academics / researchers falsify / exaggerate or in the case of our industry hide their good old fashioned stupidity in press releases...

http://www.bmj.com/content/349/bmj.g7465

Why do they do this. All about greed and reputation. It helps them scam more grant money to further their non useful careers.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-12-11 19:47:42
Nice to see an article celebrating the value of hard work in being successful in business long term. .

Instead of BS promises of "wealth creation"  by lazy means or selling out.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/money/64056959/The-one-sign-you-ll-be-rich

This comment stands out the most ...

"Firstly, you need to ask yourself why you are doing this. Secondly, it is absolutely vital you have a broader passion for the industry itself. While making money is a pleasant byproduct of running a successful business with healthy sales revenue, your passion will motivate you and your motivation will get you through the inevitable tough times every entrepreneur faces.

The reason I say this, is fake passion has killed off so many of my competitors. Because they do not really care for the Vibration Training industry as a whole. Only their personal bank account. They compromise all the time. Anything for a buck.

So many more will fail before too long.

More dishonesty from a Power Plate Studio owner. Using the name VibroGym but not even carrying their product.

https://www.facebook.com/vibrogymmiraflores?pnref=lhc

I have yet to meet anyone involved with Power Plate that is honest. That brand just seems to just attract scum.

And for some Good News ... Our company has just won top place in an Innovation Award.

And we did it without bludging money off the public or talking up our abilities. Just honesty and hard work.

Thank you to all our supporters who never compromised or sold out. One day everyone's work will be part of an industry to be proud of.

Elite Fitness NZ are advertising the new Hypervibe G17 machine.  No stock yet, due 2015.  And it’s $500 more expensive than the previous model; it’s being advertised in New Zealand at $ 3,495

This is going to be very interesting – the new machine has a smaller platform than its predecessor (which is already restrictive for some poses) and despite all the glossy advertising, it’s going to be quite weak.

Hypervibe/Murray Seaton continually say that higher G-Force acceleration is the only way to create superior results yet the new machine

They simply don’t understand the “Force Equation” in relation to physiology.

The truth is: “A vibration platform with greater mass applies more force to a user, than a vibration platform with less mass.

In his article, “The Effect Of Platform Mass”  http://www.vibrationtraining.net/2010/12/927/ , Murray Seaton of Hypervibe  gets  Paul O’Brien, who he states has a PhD in theoretical physics, to comment on Lloyd Shaw’s “volley ball/medicine ball” explanation.

I’m saying the day will come when Paul O’Brien is going to be very embarrassed for commenting on something he clearly doesn’t understand – the way the human body responds to the mass of the platform and force produced. Theoretical Physics doesn’t explain the physiological effects of applied force (vibration exercise or therapy) on the musculoskeletal system or - what the article is written about – the science of how that works.  I’d love the opportunity to show Paul O’Brien the linear, high energy platforms I work with and see if he thinks his explanation stacks up once he’s done a training session.

SH@W Science , Honesty @ Work Posted On:2014-12-08 10:31:04

What is even funnier, is he even quotes me directly in that article. So he can then dismantle the theory ...

“I throw the volleyball to you and you catch it. Sounds simple enough, but we all know from experience this is not hard work, for either of us. If I throw it to you 100 times you might start feeling it, but in no way would you describe this as a “workout”. So how do I challenge your body and make it work harder. Extending the distance between us will not change much, so we know Amplitude is not the key, and throwing it more just takes up time. The perfect scenario would be to make the workout harder but shorter, right ?.

The simple solution …… Change the ball to a medicine ball.

The increase in mass of the ball immediately increases your workload considerably, in each throw.”

Not exactly rocket science is it. And easy to actually test. But apparently beyond these "experts" comprehension.

So glad I am just a simple mortician.

Walter

These units can be used for weight loss. But the incompetent use and random programs often stops this from being possible. It needs perfect angles to be held, and I have yet to see a Pivotal trainer with enough discipline to complete a program to a high enough standard. Let alone be able to teach the technique.

What I do find profound is despite players in the industry like HyperVibe talk all geeky about how their super high g-forces create superior results. I have not seen these results in 10 years. And in fact the owner of the company literally fell on his face doing my basic program.

Not only satisfied with pushing the higher / faster equation = better results. The owner Murray Seaton spent considerable time trying to demolish my design ideas online which clearly outline the mass of the platform and KN force plays a major role ......

After writing that article , he visited my studio ( by my invite ) because despite his "expert" knowledge. He had never actually been on a heavy mass unit before ( typical of all fake experts ) .  I even allowed him to bring in engineers to hook my units up for tests.

Why....I never operate out of fear. So thought it would be a laugh. And it was.

Did he learn anything. No. He just kept trying to put his ass kicking back down to his old principles. Yes sure my units have good acceleration, but that does not account for the results we get.  Because there are Pivotal machines out their that on paper should leave mine in the dust.

He will of course try to replicate the results on paper.  Which showed lower amplitude but higher frequency "must" be the key.  So his new machine will do its best as a pivotal to replicate those results. But in reality all he will get is a piss weak Pivotal machine.

And forget similar results.

Walter Posted On:2014-12-07 12:29:28

So Im surfing the net and an ad has attached itself to my personal searches probably using SEO.

http://au.hypervibe.com/benefits.php

"Hypervibe Whole Body Vibration Machine "

Buy this machines and these are the "Benefits"

Increased Muscle Power  Strength, Improved Circulation, Pre Sport Warm Up, Improved Bone Density, Increased Tone in Posture Muscles.."NOT DARING TO SAY THEY CAN BURN OFF FAT"............Of course by now Im yawning from the monotony of benefits no consumer will respond to, thinking if the wealthy western world suffers from Obesity, Im in Australia, we are the most obese country in the world per capita. Where is the benefit of burning fat ...

So I think to myself, wow in my actual studio in 4 weeks, my first actual customer Kylie has lost 6 kgs on my actual NZ VibraTrain machine, shes posted actual results on our Facebook page and these actual machines are actually not for sale.

I start to get all warm and fuzzy because I have invested in a business thats REAL.

Gym owners are starting to talk and worry here in Australia about FBV, their monopoly in the gym industry could shift like what digital cameras did to film cameras and probably more to the point VibraTrain that works without the talk, they will not get access to these machines we are not salemen.

We do not sell machines, we give results, instead we are REAL.....

Eye opening read , about academics who get their mates to do the peer review process for them and other cons.

http://retractionwatch.com/2014/11/26/the-peer-review-scam-how-authors-are-reviewing-their-own-papers/

I believe our industry is so full of "fake academic experts" types, that cover up each others massive failings. It will always be down to the industry to prove itself.

They will never admit that the combination of dishonesty and stupidity has hurt this science more than almost anything else.

In relation to the post below. As an industry watch website as well as consumer protection site, we often revise companies promises and self promotion over reality.

This is the background from Murray Seaton and HyperVibe that has our attention.

The history to date....

In 2008 -- > 2009. Murray Seaton and HyperVibes website promised it will deliver a  ....

Commercial model Whole Body Vibration machine. It will arrive late 2009.

The commercial unit will feature:

  • All steel construction
  • Larger motor to handle heavy use
  • Larger platform
  • Greater range of frequency
  • 3 year onsite warranty

The commercial unit will suit all commercial purposes, from small clinical practices through to large gyms.

  Good we all said...... but....

Note... I questioned this promise, with my scepticism coming from multiple issues surround honesty dating right from the launch of his company. A phone call to him raised more than a few alarms, so I openly stated he was full of BS.

His response....

Murray Seaton
June 23rd, 2008

"  I am currently working on our commercial unit, designed, yes thats right, designed absolutely from scratch. It will be out later this year or early in the new year, and you will be forced to admit you were lying."

By the end of 2009 HyperVibe failed to deliver the commercial unit for Gyms and WBV studios as promised.

Move forward to 14 / 05 / 2011.......  Machine as described as being near completion in 2009 still not released. Another promise of a "commercial " unit pops up on website claiming release late 2011.

2011 came and went .......... nothing.

2013 Murray Seaton says:

" The project is due to be completed next month, and then we go into production. No doubt there will be some time consumed in setting up production etc. so realistically we’ll be looking at the start of 2012 before you start to see them available" .

Then , again ......   nothing.

Please note: During this time Murray Seaton / Hypervibe got $144,750 from the taxpayer to finish his project. So I believe this is a public issue that should be discussed.

I hope that brings context to our interest.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-12-02 22:38:29

A new machine is about to be released

HyperVibe Professional Whole Body Vibration Machine - 2015 Model G17 Pro

http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/HyperVibe-Professional-Whole-Body-Vibration-Machine_50004216235.html

Looking at the specs. There is nothing special about this machine. Even the digital display is standard on lots of machines now.

Specifications:

Frequency: 5-35Hz

Displacement: 7mm

Acceleration: 17.3g's

Platform size  53.5 cm  33.5  cm

Motor: 850W

Apart from taking my old advice on Pivotal units, which is if you increase the Fq. Decrease the amplitude.( Which is an easy design modification ) . It seems pretty standard.

Eg........ Specs of their older unit below.

  • G-force range: 0.8 - 17.4
  • Frequency range: 6 - 28Hz
  • Amplitude: 11mm (peak to peak)
  • Platform size (cm): 56.5  X  36.5
  • Powerful 900 Watt motor with current overload protection

Am I missing something ?  If this is the super machine Murray Seaton has been promising the industry since 2009. What a serious let down.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-12-02 17:00:08
Yes. All Vibration Training / Therapy units should help with edema.

How are you using the machine. Just standing or doing a proper program ?

Di Heap/VibePlus Posted On:2014-12-02 11:39:04

John, yes that type of machine helps with circulation.  It's a therapy machine. Also known as Crazyfit and many other names depending on whatever marketer is selling it, not specifically the SiTrek brand. Those machines - low speed pivotal massage, are  good for helping with circulation and very, very gentle stimulation of the lymphatic system, helps with mental relaxation too.

It is NOT a vibration training machine – which unfortunately most sellers try to say it is – lots of false advertising around that machine. The seller on NZ’s TradeMe auction site has banned me from commenting on his auctions – that promise what the machine simply cannot do and also list false machine specs.

Also that type of machine cannot take anyone over around 70Kg without loss of machine power – that is, it doesn’t work as well.

I welcome the opportunity, to make a comment about this Sitreck machine and where i think its greatest worth is.

Let me  first explane whats happened to me in the last three days.

On friday i got so bad with flued in my legs and feet that i tried hard te get in to see the Doctor, but know luck not until monday.

So with the usually discomfort one carries on, On saturday morning i happened to come across a garage sale and went in and spotted one of these machines for sale. So i thought, would it help my flued problem . Maybe. So i brought it. Got a trailer and took it home. It has worked perfectly. three six minute sessions saturday and sunday. Monday morning problem gone. I could hardly what i was seeing . This morning at 9  00 i have cancelled the Doctors appointment .

This is where i think one of its greatest uses is

Love it when someone with a life threatening illness comes on here. Asks for free and unbiased advice.

Then hasn't got the manners to respond to a few questions.

Must have found a cure.

This is usually the domain of marketers or salespeople with zero knowledge of Vibration Training / Physio. Fishing for simplistic advice so they can BS someone else into thinking they are an expert. As soon as we get specific .... we never hear from them again.

Lloyd Shaw Posted On:2014-11-13 15:59:57
Dave ....   Sorry. Cant help you with so little info.

Eg...... I have 6 different types of machines on the floor. It would depend on a number of factors, which one you would use to start with. And how you would use it.

Di Heap/VibePlus Posted On:2014-11-13 15:00:46

Hi Dave

Firstly 3D vibration is a marketing term used by companies that can’t control their machines correctly to provide pure lineal movement – so they make that out to be a good thing – I ask you??

You’ve given us no information at all to go on!

Do you or your client have access to a machine now and if so what type is it?

What stage is the person? What mobility does the person have currently? What current fitness level? Age, and weight and any other info –

Also where in the world are you, specifically? So we can suggest a therapist, studio or a machine type for home use.
NOTE: It’s not just the type of machine, there’s also how to use it!!

dave Posted On:2014-11-13 14:09:36

What is the best type of vibration machine for treating ms.  Lineal , 3d or. Pivotal

SH@W Science , Honesty @ Work Posted On:2014-11-07 13:55:55
Linda D

Yes. All depends on what you want. Physio or full on training. The price differences can be quite wide.

As Di Heap suggested, read both these carefully first . It will help you not only get what you actually need. But not get ripped off .....

Di Heap Posted On:2014-11-07 13:43:42

To help people understand Pure Vibration Training, especially when they’ve never heard of it before, we often say “Simply put, it’s just another form of exercise”

This is true but re-reading Lloyd’s article from almost a decade ago clearly points out the difference between Voluntary Movement – where the person has to make a definite effort to make their body DO the required movement –

and Involuntary Response – where the body’s inbuilt, automatic response to a situation takes over and does what it needs to do.

Like the article says, that doesn’t mean it’s all easy or no effort required. People still have to go to a studio, two or three times a week. They still have to make the effort to get into and hold the positions on the vibration machine

BUT . . .  they don’t have to be already fit or strong, they don’t have to be able to walk a mile fast, they don’t even have to be agile or flexible – some of my best clients are the ones who came initially to try out a session, thinking there’s no way they would be able to do it, and knowing how stiff their body had become from lack of movement or medical or injury issues.  A customer (with injuries and overweight) returned two weeks ago, after a long break for family reasons, and after just 5 sessions the difference in flexibility and her wellbeing is noticeable, her strength also is improved already.

THERE IS NO EXCUSE NOT TO EXERCISE

If you live in an area where vibration training is available in a specialised studio, there really is no excuse.

If you need more info on locations, read “Where to use a machineor contact us at Vibra-Train

There are several machines that have that name.. take a look at Machine Reviews to find a picture of a similar one  (doesn’t have to have the same Brand Name on the machine). These also come as small machines without handlebars.

http://www.vibration-training-advice.com/consumer-guide-and-safety-program/machine-reviews

Sounds like it’s a Low Speed Pivotal – is that what you want?

Can you give me an opinion on the Power Step Plus machine. I can't find it in your lists. Thank you
