Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-12 22:24:38
You know what I love, is when an ex-salesperson from our industry jumps in and says " it was just a fad anyway"

Because the numbers do not lie, we are busier than ever. And people are taking it far more seriously than ever before. So what they are really saying is....

" I was selling a cheap product only designed to last as long as a fad"  or  " I never believed in or used the product myself, I just lied and hyped it up to get a sale "

Because I bet they never told a single person they were flogging 20K machines to " it is just a fad"

It was like a self fulfilling prophesy, they sell cheap faddish equipment, hence dooming the industry to break down and be remembered as just a fad. Thank God some of us, like our machines, are made of better stuff.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-12 13:33:18
I have a very good idea who you guys are, and you know what, I predicted you would hit the wall eventually. Why....

(1)  You did not have a durable gym quality system. So the machines had limited applications to only light use situations. Because you failed to admit that, your product has not moved forward.

(2) You failed to join me in my public fight to define cheap machines from decent units. Which all major companies were invited to do, but their arrogance stopped them from understanding the importance of working together on such a global project. You were all suspicious but I had no ulterior motive besides helping stabilize our industry.

(3)  Because you let other companies lie their asses off, about what their machines could do and where they were made etc.......  ( Even though some of you choose to still build at home instead of outsourcing to China.)  You stood by frozen not knowing what to do. You lost sales, lots and lots of sales because you choose not to slam these companies publically. They planned on you playing the corporate game all along and keeping silent.

Foolish, gutless ,idiots.

(4) In your desperation for any sale you sold machines to gyms and places that actually needed big commercial systems. These people have now wised up and are selling their machines second hand. And looking elsewhere for more commercial grade products. They will never deal with you again, and you have actually damaged your reputation.

I have been contacted by gyms and people looking to set up studios half way around the world from me, that would rather wait and save up for my system, than deal with any other company. Some of you have really stuffed up for that to happen.

(5)  So you are now not only up against a pile of your own second hand products, that are selling for a 3rd of retail, but also cheap copies.

(6) Those selling the really cheap crap on the internet have gone from getting $1600 for a machine purchased for $80 , down to $300. Hardly worth it anymore and they are also up against their own second hand units going for $50.

That was predictable to even the most naive business person.

I on the other hand predicted that putting money into designing and building true commercial units, that their earning potential long term would eclipse any sales based company. And with the numbers we are getting through the studios now, my prediction was accurate. Our studios can pull in a day what you guys work your asses off in commission in a sale, something I know you have to work very hard at getting.

This was no secret business strategy, I clearly outlined from the start how a "durable product that produces an income" was the future of the Vibration Training industry.

If the saying is true, " you are only as good as your last sale "  , then your days are numbered. And you have no-one to blame but yourselves and your company heads for being so short sighted.

If copying Lloyd Shaws machines was easy to do, then where are the copies. In any country not just New Zealand. As someone said it has been 5 years so either everyone has tried and failed or as Richard RH said it is a lot more complex than it looks. Market forces would dictate if it could be done it would have been done.

It would not seem that secrets are Mr Shaws thing as he has given away so much free information, even a run down of his life that was not glossed over and made to make him look better than he is. I think he knows some people do not like him but I also do not think he is trying to win a popularity contest the old fashioned suck-up cheesy saleman way. I have a family member who really does not like Lloyd but still reads his stuff. He has influence over someone who does not like him, think about that.

Riddle me this Why would someone who only sells studios help someone buy a home machine  use a home machine  or set up a studio without his machines or give people hints on how to build a good machine. So either Lloyd is crazy or crazy like a fox.

It a bloody mistery to me but I think  by the time any of his competition figure it out it will be too late.

WayneCampbell Posted On:2010-10-11 16:17:11

Hazzen,

We have 3 of Lloyds machines in our studio – they have been operating for over 5years with ZERO downtime. We also have another well known brand in our studio that hardly gets used due to the demand for Lloyd Shaws  Vibra-Train machines. Why? Because they get results.

Oh and don’t be so condescending towards morticians, we will all be needing their expertise at some time, however even you could delay the need for his services by training on his machines.

Di Heap Posted On:2010-10-11 15:15:44

I came into Vibra-Train as a customer when I began my training as a Fitness Instructor.  I could not understand why Lloyd Shaw was outspoken against Fitness NZ and thought his concerns might be exaggerated.

I’m now a N.Z. REPs registered Fitness Instructor.  I’ve listened to Lloyd’s concerns about corruptness and lack of ethics and I’ve tried to balance both sides, trying to see the worth in having an overseeing board controlling the fitness industry in N.Z., ensuring trainers are up to standard and gyms are providing excellent service but the longer I’ve spent looking in and being in, the more I understand and agree with Lloyd’s concerns -  For one thing, In my opinion, Fitness Instructors can basically buy their way to registration by studying with schools that are owned by Fitness NZ and REPs board members. Those who study at regular universities and local Technical Institutes don’t gain full registration even when the courses are listed on the REPs website.  And that’s where I am right now and I’m this month required to sit an exam to prove I’m up to standard. This general exam makes no sense to me as I’ve moved into a specific area of fitness and therapy training – Vibration Training.  I also do other industry courses each year to keep up to date.

FitnessNZ and REPs board won’t send someone to assess me at my job, it’s all academic; easy for them, an online exam, and only accessible through Facebook, which in my opinion is also laughable. Not every gym floor trainer has a computer and the payrate for trainers in N.Z. is so low it’s no surprise that some couldn’t afford one.

Also FitnessNZ/REPS Preferred Providers of fitness equipment are those companies who are overseen or part owned by FitnessNZ or REPs board members.  It’s like a big club – if you’re in, you can benefit greatly  to the point of having your product recommended despite it’s real worth and despite it’s manufacturing defects or shortcomings in the case of recommended Vibration Machines.

And what do Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers get for their yearly fee paid to REPs? Nothing much at all – lower fees for events like GetNZ Active (it’s just priced that way), a newsletter that says nothing, just lists available courses, a regular newsletter from Australian Fitness Network – the only thing of value with some articles worth reading, and free or cheap client assessment forms with REPs logo all over them – no thanks I have my own.

Some will tell me this statement is too long but I hope it explains in part how some trainers feel. Today I am emailing FitnessNZ and REPs to withdraw my current registration. In doing so I’m choosing to work in an independent fitness business (Vibra-Train) that values my contribution and where I will continue to be trained and tested to the highest level so that customers get the safest, most effective workout possible and I get the job satisfaction that makes going to work exciting.

Hazzen...

Which was written years ago by me, you will see this is a long game we are playing. It was never going to be easy or have a any short cuts.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-11 12:51:47
Please note everybody: This is a global site, with most hits coming from Australia, U.K. and U.S. So our blacklist reflects that. We do not list every single little company that does something wrong in our corner of the world.

Lloyd Posted On:2010-10-08 17:37:29

That was Dan Fivey you are referring to . I still have a copy of him and his mates sales prospectus, promising constant after sales support and training etc...

In reality once they had the money, you became useless to them and they stopped all communication.

I did my best to warn everybody, but again it was put down by most as anti-competitiveness. But as always time has a way of showing these people for what they really are.  I hope you do re-enter the industry and get on board our safety program, and try to forget anything Dan Fivey taught you.

PhilippaChurch Posted On:2010-10-08 01:20:07

I would have to add also my experience of Lloyd spending a a lot of time advising me on my initial purchase of machines which had no gain for him whatsoever.  Hypergravities.  He also spent  endless time and energy helping me out of a very nasty situation when the machines kept going wrong.  Without his support again, no gain for him, I would have gone under and doubt that I would have got any money back for the machines that were just not fit for purpose.  Clearly and quite rightly, Lloyd is proud of his machines but he has always supported other companies businesses that work in an ethical manner.

KM Posted On:2010-10-07 23:38:11

I still have the Vibrogyms I purchaced and am thinking of setting up again.  I did try to sell them on trademe a while ago but not takers.

You took my calls and helped me when even the people who sold me the machines would not  not return my attempts to contact them.. Dan Fivey and his mate Jyle. I still dont get why you helped my family even though our businesss was not very  far from you.

I will email you soon to come and visit and get advice on how to relaunch.

MikeHair Posted On:2010-10-07 16:43:55

Hey KM, thanks for your comments about Lloyd it takes even bigger nuts to admit when one was wrong, well done.

There have been times that i didnt fully understand where lloyd was going with this industry but allowing myself to trust him has proven advantageous

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-07 13:16:24
KM...

Cant guess from your description who you are, because it was such a common problem a few years back. But thanks for the comments now.

I think quite a few people who were involved in the industry before will give it another go, as we are busier now than ever, just with their eyes more wide open this time. And I will support them even if they are my competition ( as long as they were not the unethical ones I talk about )

KM Posted On:2010-10-07 00:53:25

I am usually a lurker on this forum, but I have had personal dealings with Lloyd Shaw before, not all pleasent. Everything and everybody he warned me about not trusting in the past was spot on.  I still do not agree with some of his methods and they are not how I have been trained to deal with things. But the results have spoken for themselves.

My mates and I lost everything because we thought he was full of shit and trusted the wrong people. The people in the nice suits. What could have been still comes to mind every time I read this site.

Everytime I talk to people about vibration training, they know who you are. And a lawyer friend of mine thinks you have balls of steel.

I hope the winning streak continues .  For everybodies sake.

WayneCampbell Posted On:2010-10-06 16:58:24

Linda – no not bitter and twisted at all.

Just passionate about an industry that can be of enormous benefit to the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders.

Just ask the people that Lloyd Shaw gives his time and services to free of charge. These include the obese, MS sufferers, people in wheelchairs, amateur athletes. All of whom benefit from vibration training.

Also ask the people in the industry that Lloyd Shaw has assisted, even those that would be considered as opposition to Lloyd Shaw’s own company. All for the good of the industry and health and wellbeing of New Zealanders.

Your sort of personal attack is nothing new and shows that you can’t argue with the facts just emotion.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-06 13:55:42
I stand by our record....

(1) Our first attacks were aimed at companies like Power Plate. Faking and lying about everything they could to get sales. Thanks to our efforts people have openly contacted us and stated they will not buy from them.

(2) Our second attacks were aimed at the arrogant but lazy academics who "forgot" to tests machines before releasing research papers. They have now admitted to that mistake by releasing a research paper giving warning to other researchers.

(3)  We are now going to go after the people who should have protected the consumer. But failed to act. I am willing to put significant time and effort, into getting enough ripped off people together, to make a noise about it. And will be doing some advertising to make this happen.

Remember we are talking about a product designed to effect your health in multiple ways. Sold to the elderly, fit and disabled alike. Something the Com Com, Med-Safe etc... should have been all over like white on rice.

I mean these people actually advertise that is their job, then fail to act for 5 years. Talk about hipocracy.

Di Heap Posted On:2010-10-06 12:32:34

Another is that PowerPlate were claiming their machines were made in Europe or “anywhere but China” when they were in fact, made in China and now some in India.

You can see evidence of this on the TradeMe New Zealand auction site where a seller is saying he was told his PowerPlate was “made in USA” – they have never been made in USA.

It’s about honesty.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-06 12:23:24
Ok JBaker, explain this...

One of the complaints was that Gym Form Vibro- Max had fake specs attached to its machine. Claiming 50Hz on their Pivotal machine.

When in fact no pivotal machine has ever been manufactured that can go that high. Galileo ( the top unit its its category stops at 30 hz )

Clear cut case to investigate . Should take you about 5 mins.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-06 12:06:54
JBaker....   Do you really think I would state for the record, in public, that complaints were laid to the CC about fake health equipment being retailed to the public. And them refusing to act, if I did not have proof.

I went to court with Power Plate and bet them, because I only state what I can prove.

Di Heap Posted On:2010-10-06 12:01:47

Actually I put in a complaint using my full name and address etc - and got back an acknowledgement with reference that I would be contacted within 3 months – then nothing – no contact – no action. Not only Lloyd Shaw but others have put in complaints also.

Di Heap Posted On:2010-10-06 11:34:57

Hi Linda

I don’t know what your experience with Vibration Machines is or what brands you have tried.

I’d love you to come to a Vibra-Train studio for a workout session.  Then you’ll see what a high force machine is.

You can then make an informed decision on the honesty of the claims of various machine brands and you’ll totally understand why we are so hard on marketers and suppliers of low quality (yet high results claiming) machines and on the Commerce Commission whose job it is to protect the consumer and to whom many individuals have made complaints.

It’s never about brand promotion but about Quality and Results – both for Training and for Therapy.

MikeHair Posted On:2010-10-04 19:14:06
To all..

As someone who has been ripped off almost to the point of losing my house, I fully support naming the people who sit back and do nothing when it is there job to protect the consumer.
If the com com had done their job when they were first told about this problem then I would not still be paying for it nearly 5 years later.

It was a very effective way of dealing with criminals and bad people years ago, but i don’t think all the PC poofters out there would allow us to put people in stocks and throw rotten food at them in this day and age Lol.

Why do you think the courts still publish peoples name in the paper? Do you think that reflects badly on the NZ Justice system?

At long last someone has the balls to stand up at all cost to try and protect people like me and you Linda, so at the very least see it for what it is!

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-04 15:12:39
Linda....   Did you read the Blacklist.  It is the 3rd highest read site.

It has been very effective at protecting the consumer globally. And we have even managed to shut some of the con-artist down ( one got arrested ) and we get thanked all the time for the info and warnings given.

Put yourself in a victims position and then see how silence sits with you.

" All it takes for a bad person to succeed, is for a good person to do nothing"

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-04 14:39:08
Linda...

We are not talking about a small group of effected people here. We are talking about thousands of people who have been duped out of thousands of dollars. And they will not be happy when they realize the Com Com was sitting on this info the whole time.

If my recommendations had been followed. We could have at least warned the consumers. But it is an undisputable fact those individuals choose to not warn anybody and keep my, and other peoples, concerns to themselves. They put their names on the communications, so they get named now.

Why should they get to hide and it should be noted they have no issues with naming people and companies.

I am not interested in excuses. I am interested in accountability of actions or in this case, deliberate inaction.  And remember I did try it "their way"  and it amounted to zero action.  So time to do it another way.

Those who would say nothing are the enemy of the consumer in my opinion, so gain no respect with me. In fact they are up there with the dishonest marketers.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-03 23:25:16

This is happening everywhere...

Basically those in charge are too dumb to be  usefull to the consumer.

Deb W Posted On:2010-10-03 21:14:10

Thank you very much.  Seemed too good to be true at the price offered to be a training machine.  Not sure how they get away with the claims they make though...

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-10-03 20:39:50
Deb W...

That is a 100% Slow Speed Pivotal unit.

Which in the aim of rehab for your daughter is perfectly ok. If fact maybe a bit safer because it does not have the higher speeds, which may be used incorrectly and negatively effect the knees ( always a concern with home users ) .

Deb W Posted On:2010-10-03 20:28:24

Hi there

I came across your site while looking for a vibration machine for home use, primarily for my 14 year old daughter to assist in muscle development and recovery after a full knee dislocation some months ago.  She is a ballet dancer and needs to rebuild strength in her quad and particularly vmo and recovery has been slow and laborious.  For the past 6 weeks I have been using a hyper-vibe machine at a local studio and am impressed by the obvious effect it is having on my muscle strength.

Since I cannot afford a hyper-vibe at home I have been looking at other options and came across a machine from Confidence Fitness, sold here and in the UK.  However after reading your very informative site info I am concerned this may simply be one of the 98 of low speed pivotals you talk about in your review page.  Im somewhat dubious of the specs they are providing about this machine.

Can you give me any advice and do you know anything of this particular machine personally.  Any feedback would be much appreciated.  I cant seem to post a link to the site here but it is the Confidence Fitness Vibration Plate Power Plus available from oo.com.au  and numerous other sites.

Thanks, Deb

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-09-29 13:09:34
Peoples, I also think it would be a good idea to indentify yourself with more than just a first name.

Eg... John P  , Mike H

Or it can get a bit confusing.

Di Heap Posted On:2010-09-29 12:19:42

Firstly where do you live – the world is a big place – this determines what is available to you.

Read this: Machine Reviews (www.vibration-training-advice.com/machine-reviews ) and decide what type of machine you want and how much you are prepared to pay.

Are you able to go to a Vibration Training Studio?

You will find many other articles here (www.vibration-training-advice.com/consumer-guide-and-safety-program)

Then if you have any further questions please come back and ask.

karen Posted On:2010-09-29 09:58:54
