The previous post is for Demon who asked for a recommendation for a machine for serious training, not only massage.

English translation: they recommend FitVibe, Professional vibrating platform produced by the Belgian Gymn Uniphy, the company who produce for the market of medical equipment. He says FitVibe platforms are certified TUV certificate and are certified for medical operation, so there is guaranteed efficiency and use.  Price includes transportation, installation and coaching. FitVibe Smart series is designed for home use; there is a touch screen which displays pre-selected exercise program so it’s not necessary to learn about frequency and amplitude.

The post is the typical sales advertising wording used by FitVibe so it’s just marketing but it is one of the machines Demon said he was considering.

I have used a FitVibe Excel – the gym version with more force than the home machine.  I found it inferior to the high force machines that I’ve used, Vibra-Train, BodyShaker, and VibroGym and the pre-selected program with its picture display was more of a hindrance than a help for serious training.

A couple more studies showing positive benefits of vibration are at www.nlm.nih.gov, click on PubMed, and use vibration exercise as search words to read the abstracts.  Von Stengal et al. showed WBV reduced falls in a population of postmenopausal women.  Gusi et al. found vibration exercise to improve balance in patients with fibromyalgia.

There are websites and books about “brain wave vibration”, about, so called, natural rhythm or “energy” concepts. This has no relation to Vibration Training Machines.

I get told by many customers how much better they feel after their vibration training session as it relieves stress and increases mental acuity through the effort of hard work and the hormonal responses involved.

You are clearly getting confused with the Vibra-train staff.  Di is a woman - you must be thinking of Big Bob who runs a studio in Christchurch.  It sounds like you and he would get on well.   I think he is easily confused too which is maybe why he chose Powerplates.   Di is also very careful with money - she would never be so careless as to lose £50 which leads nicely onto  the topic of losers...  Now let me see...!

Interesting comment about Power Plate from Lloyd.  I looked at the Power Plate site for the U.S. and see the Level 1 Course they supposedly are teaching to people uses AP and Mark Verstegen terminology for the course units.  It does not list who the instructors are for these Level 1 courses which seems odd.  I surmise that if anybody attending asks an intelligent question that it will not be answered.  This has been my experience with Power Plate, Mark, and AP.

Yes I have personal experience of Bodyshakers  and no the company are not going bankrupt.  If I were to buy a home machine  it is the machine I would choose and would also be my next choice if I couldnt have Vibra trains.  They are reliable. the company is honest and they are in my opinion the most powerful and also reasonable of the machines out there for sale.  Everyone I know who has bought one for home or studio use has been really pleased.   Im sorry you have not had a reply.  I can see if I can get a respones for you if you would like.      I know they shipped three out to Croatia recently so it is not a problem to ship to you. 

I would agree with Mike  these are not machines for anything above  ground floor unless you own the whole house and it is detached and you are willing to invest in a lot of matting.

This is not a get fit quick workout...15 years of nothing will not be turned around in 10 minutes, although the machines you have mentioned are good for alot of things, to many benifits to mention here, they will not help you build quality muscle. The only machine on the face of the planet that will do that is a vibratrain.

Speaking from experience of owning vibrogym pro for 3 years then moving UP to vibratrain machines i have started growing muscle again, my arms are bigger now from just vibratrain workouts than when i was lifting weights, All vibrgyms done in the muscle department was help to stay toned not build muscle, maybe Lloyd will explain why his machines build muscle and others dont, i havnt got time to go in2 it.

In saying all that the bodyshaker junior would be a good home machine, just not in a third floor apartment, sorry but in my experience unless you are on ground floor concrete with a mat dampening system you will piss every body off

Thanks, Philippa, do you have personal experience with Bodyshaker Junior? Are these machines too loud to be used in 3rd floor apartment? (I guess so) What I am looking for is a machine that can transform me from 15-years-not-really-exercising-person, not much fat but also almost *no* muscles, into a normal human being with some muscles and faster metabolism and can do it quite quickly...

BTW Isn’t it you who has the only studio with Lloyd’s machines in Europe? Can you compare with Bodyshaker? ;-D

BTW2 The problem with Bodyshaker company is that they do not answer my emails, I don’t understand why. I would - if I’d be asking warranty covered repair - but I am actually trying only to buy the machine… ;-D Or are they also going to bankrupt

The Junior Bodyshaker packs a real punch and will certainly be better than any of those models below.

I’ll leave Lloyd to really guide you about machines.  I like Bodyshaker out of that list but I’m not familiar with the Junior model. It’s solid steel and made in Netherlands .  If you can find a VibroGym professional (re-sale) it’s a good machine

Thanks for your comments about DKN. Can you tell us about yourself?  Do you do other fitness training? Who else will use the machine?

Hi everybody!

14 days ago I was going to buy PowerPlate My3 coz PP was for me the absolute top of WBV... ;-}
But I was not lazy and went to internet for some information and found all that hidden truth behind on a few discussion forums (like this one). It is really shocking how much lies and cheating is in this segment of fitness and how is everything changing quickly. The last drop was that after reading a lot of (older) posts where Lloyd recommends HyperGravity as a good product (and I was seriously thinking about buying one) I came here and it is already on Lloyd's Blacklist... :-DDD Really funny...

Anyway, I would like to ask politely your advice on buying WBV machine for family use but serious training, not only massage. These are the options that I have - I live in Prague, centre of Europe. {prices are in EUR}

1. Galileo Basic               3700
2. Galileo Advanced        5000
3. DKN GX5                       1300
4. DKN GX10                    2080
5. VibroGym Domestic    3150
6. FitVibe Smart                4000
7. FitVibe Excel                 6000

Is any of these High-Energy Lineal? (I guess the last one only?) I only have chance to test personally number 7 and I did number 4. DKN GX10 has very nice price, but I was testing it and it was a disappointment to be honest. It is louder than I thought and the effect was weak even on 50Hz... I was doing basic squat and talking to the dealer and after a while I noticed it is over two minutes and I felt almost nothing in my legs... Plus the platform "floats" when you move on it, it is not very stable.

Which machine do you think has the best price/performance ratio? For example FitVibe Smart is almost twice more expensive that DKN's "professional" model - does it mean it is really twice better?

Any personal experiences with listed machines will be very appreciated, thanks a lot.

BTW I see in the post below that VibroGym is bankrupt? I guess I should remove their model from the list... 8-O

As someone who was a customer and now works for Vibra-Train I’ve watched this industry for over 3 years.  I’ve seen leaders fail worldwide, whole brands cease to exist, and very many studios close including some Vibra-Train licensed ones where the owner’s motivation and expectation didn’t fit the realities of how it is. I’m not going to make excuses for anyone.

PowerPlate Int. have been bankrupt in Europe, relaunched via USA and basically, completely finished in N.Z. by court judgements against them.  Now even VibroGym is bankrupt which is sad as they have a good pro. machine.  The industry has worked  and is still working to force brands of low quality (especially pivotal Crazyfit type) machines to state honest specs and claims and not simply state all the benefits and studies done on high level lineal machines in their advertising.  There’s been so much achieved.

I’ve watched the “big names”, the “high flyers” and they’re all gone except for Lloyd Shaw.  His was the name that seemed knowledgeable but confrontational when I first researched on Internet yet he was the person I could approach personally and get all the answers I wanted and I found that his confrontational style was solely to ensure an effective, safe workout for me – the customer.  Now he’s still active, still moving forward, still serving his customers and the whole industry, and available to studio owners and individuals who call him at all hours of the day and night.  He is a “giver”, that’s something that detractors don’t understand.  Monetary rewards; we all want them, but Lloyd is one who puts this secondary to the big plan.  

It amuses me the amount of people that think if you own a company or run a business you must drive a flash car or live in a rich part of town...

Thanks for the comments Lloyd and Mike.  I sent the abstract of the study to two academics and asked what they thought of this study just like I did here.  The academics have not answered me yet.  Maybe they will but I am not counting on it.
