So we are getting a nice rounded representation on the global industry. Some of the companies that have been invited have corporate structures that would not know how to deal with such an offer. So who knows how they will respond. I even sent an invite to Power Plate. Will be interesting to see how they respond being the first company to ever use such a tactic.....

This is what Power Plate were teaching their "advanced trainers" in my country. ( N.Z )

Warning Copy Cat Vibration Machines

......copy cats with no proven research have the possibility to cause injury and the effectiveness of the machine to be questioned. But more importantly could jeopardize the client using it. For example if the calibrations are not correct or the Hz is not perfect or is not calibrated correctly to the timing it can blow your eyeballs out. This is just one examples of the dangers of using a vibration machine that has not been researched or tested accurately......

So this is not a new issue we face, but definitely one I hope together we can make it just not worth it for companies to use.

In a direct response to what we view as some  alarming new marketing tactics, I produced this comment and asked other Vibration Training companies to agree and reproduce wherever possible. As the list grows it will be updated and released in a final version.  If any other company or expert involved in this industry I have not contacted direct, please feel free to do so to be added to the list.

" Even though we are clearly in competition with each other, it is our companies honest opinion that all forms of Vibration Training, Pivotal and Lineal are beneficial and safe for people to use. There is no room for scare-mongering to get sales in our industry "

This industry brings out the true colours in a person – I’m quite sad to report that Dr Mercola, whose opinion I have respected in many areas of health has totally sold out to PowerPlate.

He’s been selling and actively promoting PowerPlate machines for some time, which is his right to, but this year his articles and videos are downright sales pitch and on the forum/comments section of each article people who state an opinion which is in any way opposing or different to his own get “black marked” and a statement is attached to beware of them.

I questioned the integrity of PowerPlate and rather than reply, I have been completely banned from the Mercola Website. Bad move Dr Mercola.  Now we know all you care about is the mighty Sales $

Fit-X was a massive success. We did what we needed to do. .Shake the Australians up and introduce them to commercial, gym quality, vibration training..

Will be there next year with a bigger stand.

Just to let people know:

VIBRA-TRAIN are exhibiting at FitX –Sport and Fitness Expo – MELBOURNE, Australia

This weekend, Saturday March 12th and Sunday March 13th, 2011

There are Vibra-Train machines for you to try out and Lloyd Shaw will be there all weekend to answer your questions.

I bet he’ll issue a challenge to see how long you can last in a “Super Squat” on the machines.

http://www.vibration-training-advice.com/extra-force-better-training-results

Extra Force = Better Training Results

Reading a forum on another site a supposed “expert” in Vibration Training has listed some machines, both pivotal and lineal, which he says have evidence based, tested results. The problem with this is that the testing of lineal machines is often so limited that it’s not much use –

it allows machines to be evidenced as comparable in output (and presumably in the results the user gets in a workout) when they vary markedly in “force”.

See the article for more information

Yes John I have had some interesting feedback regarding the KN article. It seems it has suddenly dawned on some industry people they have been hoodwinked. But these were just salespeople never claiming to be experts.

I know some people will be genuine in their surprise, but others tried far too hard to not have this subject discussed for me ever to think it wasn't a deliberate ploy to mislead the consumer.

Enjoyed the recent articles and videos.  Keep up the great work.

"No such thing as a bad machine"  article......

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2011-03-04 17:10:18
New article up.....

Lets just sit back and watch not who comments on the article, but who doesn't. Especially "experts" who read this forum religiously. The ones that keep harping on about "independent engineering" studies on machines and their links to good results. Because they are the ones who do NOT want this discussed.

The silence from some will be deafening. But guess what, the truth is loud.

Deanna

In regards to my last answer, I am speaking from experience as I ran a studio that had both pivotal and lineal and found that pivotal was more uncomfortable for lower back injuries than lineal.

Also if you want to build your bone density back up then you need a machine that is going to produce enough pressure for that to happen.

Hope that helps

Deanna..

Does the T-Zone come from Canada . Did you read that somewhere  ?

MikeHair Posted On:2011-03-03 08:31:11

Deanna

After reading the page you put up, i wouldnt trust too much of what it says......Once again we see a marketer trying to sell machines by saying that lineal technology is not good for you and compares it to a jackhammer...

As you will see on this site we promote both forms, pivotal and lineal as they both have a place in society. It is obvious the guy on the video is only speaking about what he has read on the internet from other marketers.

Personally I think lineal coupled with our safety programe would be a better option given your degeneration of the lower spine and fibromyalgia. You would need a medium to high energy lineal which would probably be out of the price range for most people to have at home. Have a look at the ad on the home page for bodyshaker.

Deanna Posted On:2011-03-03 06:39:13

I live in Arizona and I believe the TZone comes from Canada.  You can check the specs here  http://guardiantrader.com/Whole_Body_Vibration.html

Di Heap Posted On:2011-02-28 13:28:20

Deanna – a few questions

1.       Where abouts are you? (some companies charge $2000 for machines you can get for $300 elsewhere)

2.       When you look at a specific seller – to buy a machine - Can you please tell us the advertised specs of the machine - before you buy it!  This is so we can advise you if they are being honest and are a reputable dealer, or not.

Di Heap Posted On:2011-02-28 08:51:12

Deanna

The T-Zone is a Low Speed Pivotal  – see here:  http://www.vibration-training-advice.com/machine-reviews

It is a therapy unit and as you’ve already seen some benefits from using it having one at home seems a good idea.

Billie

I removed your blatant advertising. While we promote healthy eating and taking supplements that provide benefit for various conditions we do not allow spam and self promotion.

Deanna Posted On:2011-02-28 05:40:21

Do you have any information or opinion on the VT 15 machine by TZone.  I have used one a few times at my massage therapists  and feel good after the treatment.  My problems are Fibromyalgia, degenerative disease in lower spine and some areas of arthritis.  With the cost of the treatment plus a round trip of about 30 miles each time, it wouldnt take long to pay for having one at home.  Am seriously considering buying one and the TZone sounds good.

Dean...

Yes I think those that see the IVTRB Safety Program as simplistic underestimate ..

(a) What is going on inside the body.

(b)  Simplicity is strived for and indeed imperative for launching any new idea.

I always said the program and how we articulate our ideas, was as important as the machines we make. Keep up the good work.

An update on Di Heaps article, about poorly written articles...

Google is doing something about it.....

It has already had an effect on 1 company that relied on such rubbish to get ratings. And the real effects will start showing in a week or two.

Dean Mistura Posted On:2011-02-26 12:13:39

Yesterday, I presented a lecture for members of our sport medicine society. That was first such lecture about vibration training and therapy in Croatia. Hopefully it wasn't a last one.
My main argument was that this technology allow us to combine a protection of isometric contraction (static exercise), and muscle activation equivalent to isotonic contraction (dynamic movement) all in one, with vibration stimuli of hi energy vibration machine. This argument presents a strong indication for use of vibration exercises in treatment of degenerative diseases of knee, and hip, ass well as in overuse injuries, such are jumper's knee, chronic groin syndrome, achilodynia, etc.
The reactions of MD's and PT's were really good. As one doctor said "I didn't know it is so simple. Before this, I presumed this is just another anticelulite treatment for which I don't have any use in my daily practice." Other MD added: "There is so much contradictory information available about this technology, which makes understanding and using vibration stimuli in medicine real challenge, because great uncertainty about body reaction to any stimuli makes one reluctant to advise use of such treatment in particular patient. Seeing simple protocols such as this with strict practical rules, makes clinical decision much easier."

Now, we have seen a lot of arguments for and against safety program here, and on another forums, and I think that arguing will go on. But I have to say that in everyday physiotherapy practice safety program presents simple and workable set of rules that is easily explainable to a patient, as well as to a MD. Furthermore, predictability of physiological effects of such program makes it more acceptable for indications in orthopedic medicine.

Also, I proposed a protocol for reducing a risk of injuries in strength training for professional athletes with vibration. More about this in my next posts.

New Myth-Buster Videos released on the Industry & Theory side......

Part 2 & 3.  Covering some basic vibration / physics facts.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2011-02-25 13:22:59
Chris ,now I have more info this is my recommendation....

 http://www.wavexercise.com/ ( only their steel units )

DKN  ( only their steel units )

Actually if proprioception ( balance ) is your children's main issue I would go for a  Pivotal unit like NitroFit. Lineal really is more for power, speed and quality muscle gain ( body-fat % loss )  The lower speeds on Pivotal work directly on balance and processing issues .

The fact is you could get away with buying a Crazy-Fit type unit  Vibra-Slim etc..  but they break down so much it just not worth the hassle.

ChrisL Posted On:2011-02-25 09:46:20

First time post,   I have 2 children with severe processing issues that include balance and coordination issues. I believe that vibration therapy will help my children and my wife and I.  Any recommendations as to what machine I should purchase for my home.    From my understanding Lineal is better than Pivotal due to the nature of mans movement relative to gravity which I conceptually see.  Looking for some help, from what I gather DKN is a good product.

Thank ypu,

Chris L

New Videos released on the Industry & Theory side......

They are there to clear up some simple questions. So simple in fact I promise you will wonder how the "experts" missed them in the first place....

As always the answer is simple, they were not "experts" to begin with. They were just copying each other frantically trying not to be left behind. Never stopping to ask themselves if the person before them even knew what they were talking about.

This is pure intellectual laziness, the kind of thing we expect from marketers. Not scientists.

Dave...

A word of advice. Do not read their website or follow any of their instructions. They are on-sellers, nothing more nothing less.

No Pivotal machine released to date goes up as high as 56Hz. VibraPro are not confused, they just made up a random figure that sounded good. ( most Lineal units only go up to 50Hz, so they just added a few more for good measure for marketing purposes )  Never mind neither system should ever be compared.

You will find the Hz increase in 0.2 increments and top out at about 18hz.

I would not trust them to clean my toilet properly. They are first class morons.

Dave Posted On:2011-02-23 15:35:27

I received a vibropro 5500 today. While I am satisfied with the machine the following incorrect information is displayed on their website 0 to 56 hz actually it is 12 to 56 hz, 28 speeds actually 22 at 2hz intervals, biomass indicator there is none, 5 programs plus manual actually there are 4 plus manual

Just an fyi

VibroCise...

Did you go through Dan Fivey to get your VibroGyms . Is he still the UK rep ?

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2011-02-23 12:10:03
Never had it reported before, And I must have used 40 Vibro-Gyms.

Having said that the 4mm amplitude setting can be quite hard of soft tissue, but good shoes should protect anybody from heel issues.

Philippa Church Posted On:2011-02-23 10:23:23
Hi vibrocise, we have not experienced this in our studio. Good idea to get in touch with whoever sold you your machines. I believe you have bought vibrogyms, so hopefully you are getting some after sales advice and support from Dan Fivey. If should be able to give you some input on whether he has seen this before.

Philippa Posted On:2011-02-23 10:13:57
Sending lots of love to beautiful New Zealand. Hope you heal quickly. X
