herin lies the problem as i see it. On your videos you admit that home gym machines are ok  people go to a gym as who can afford so many machines right
a vibe studio has just that one machine which wont do as much as free weights etc

Al, you wrote the above.  Have you ever used a Vibra-Train brand or other high force Vibration machine?  I’m laughing at the comment that it wont do as much as free weights.  Come into the City Studio and I promise to send you away exhausted and prove you wrong.  (I have nothing against free weights)

Some home machines are okay.  A person who does their homework first and asks lots of questions of salespeople, and has the money for a “better” machine, might buy something that is okay.  Useful for starting off in vibration (therapy more than real exercise), okay for someone who is obese or unfit; okay for sports people as a warm-up and cool-down.  Most people will quickly plateau on even a “better” home machine or in the case of a cheapo pivotal, it will soon become another piece of ‘as seen on tv” junk taking up room in the back shed or on TradeMe for re-sale.

Di Heap Posted On:2010-01-16 17:22:12

I’ve been involved with Vibra-Train for three years; long enough to see heavy metal hulls, top quality motors, metal handlebars, all of which weigh a ton (figuratively of course but I can’t even think of moving them).  These parts cost heaps.  Also control units with electronics.  What do you want?  A breakdown of proof of costs?

I’m unsure of the motives of some people here apart from slinging off at Lloyd because he’s been arrogant enough to do things the “Kiwi way” – and build a better machine than big commercial companies could provide.  Better = higher results for the consumer;  machines that don’t break down so full up-time for studio owners etc

Di Heap Posted On:2010-01-16 17:11:06

Read this article http://www.vibration-training-advice.com/general-consumer-warning-about-cheap-pivotals and if you want more information contact Lloyd directly.  He has a purchase order showing prices.  He will always back up everything he says with proof.

Al, I edited the videos (to remove some session pricing info relevant to N.Z. only).  I don’t know where Lloyd says 80 and 80000, will re-watch later and see if I can find it.

AL Posted On:2010-01-16 17:05:30

Hi Di, sure what 80 to 8000. I understand you cant compare a low cost machine to Lloyds machine but 12k .....can you explain to this . Am i correct in what i said

Di Heap Posted On:2010-01-16 16:57:05

Mr Wright, the person/company Lloyd is telling of – they make low cost machines which cannot be compared to steel platform Vibra-Train in material costs.

AL Posted On:2010-01-16 16:54:18

I think what Lloyd is saying is that the 12k cost is because technically the company he buys the parts from is part of the vibra train group and they charge that much. Im also aware that hand built watches can cost 10k so why not a military grade motor that has titanium parts or gold wiring etc. The 80 to 8000 was a mistakethat is BS

I have a fishing reel which cost 3000 to buy

MrWright Posted On:2010-01-16 16:46:20

18000 not 1800

MrWright Posted On:2010-01-16 16:43:07
So lets break part two of that down
it costs you $12,000 in raw materials to make your machines-Yet that person who buys for $800 and sells for $1800 you would expect the raw material cost would be somewhere in the region of $200, (Based on the $800)  Please explain  what you  stated on TV ?

MrWright Posted On:2010-01-16 16:35:27

Al,you took my thunder,lol

On You tube you state some people buy vibration equipment for $80 and sell them for $8000,one you said was buying for $800 and selling for $18000
Please name one product world as an example. Any type of product i.e Tooth brush bought for $1.50 and some retailer could infact get $150 over the counter. Please explain this tall story you told on TV to the New Zealand public.

AL Posted On:2010-01-16 16:01:26

Lloyd just watched part 5 of the youtube sessions. You claim 80 bucks and sell for 8000. Think you want to edit that out as even the drug P isnt that good. Also how do your machines cost 12 to 18k in raw material costs. Honest question. Im an engineer at Air NZ and I see lots of tech. What is in this machine that makes it so expensive

AL Posted On:2010-01-16 15:37:01

herin lies the problem as i see it. On your videos you admit that home gym machines are ok

people go to a gym as who can afford so many machines right

a vibe studio has just that one machine which wont do as much as free weights etc

so the home market may be fine but i cant see much growth in studios. where are all your oulets lloyd. I read you had  15 or 20 now

AL...

Most of the awards came from the steel Vibro-Gym  and the new plastic machines broke down so quickly it was unreal. Not really my idea of "commercial quality" Maybe we have different definitions.

The website ?  Its a marketing company, what did you expect. It is designed to baffle you with BS. Dig deeper and you will find out it is not so pretty.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-01-16 15:17:05
Ok mate you asked for it, but you are going to hate hearing it.

(1)  I made zero profit selling and setting up studios in N.Z.
(2)  I take no % or commission from any of the owners.
(3)  I only recently allowed leases to gyms because of other companies failure to produce a true commercial product.
(4)  I even encouraged a U.S. based company into the commercial market but their machines failed.

Now why would I do that ?

Because I have goals....

(1) Prove Vibration Training works.
(2) Help fight obesity
(3) To have it accessible to everybody that needs it  ( I do not charge people who are disabled, have a life threatening illness or are morbidly obese )

I own the Trade-Mark to the U.S. and Australia and I will be expanding into those markets for profit, but only after I have achieved what I want at home. Please check up on any of those points if you wish.

AL Posted On:2010-01-16 15:14:25

I just had a look and sure you have to admit Power Plate site looks great  El Mcpherson endorses them and she knows a shit load about fitnesslook at her. Plus they have a bunch of awards. Comes back to the same thing trust a respected retailer like Elite i guess. They reckon outside their product power plate was pretty good and commercially make the most popular units

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-01-16 15:04:27
I have been up against  ........

Power Plate-- ( world largest retailer )
 Vibex         --- ( backed by Fitness N.Z. )
 Vibra-Gym  --- ( independents )
 Elite-Fitness --- Rocket Fitness
 Nemes  ---------- ( independent )

I actually want good competition because it helps everybody. Only an idiot wants a monopoly but I want to be part of an industry I can be proud of, not ashamed of.

MrWright Posted On:2010-01-16 15:03:37

You are very qiuck to tell everyone how you dont sell machines. Please state your postion relating to your conflict of interest. Do you not lease machines, sell fanchises, take comission payments from studios in the vibration business around New Zealand. This is your income, is it not. are you not a salesman with one objective. To make money in this industry.

VibrationGuy Posted On:2010-01-16 14:58:02

Amanda,

please get back in touchwe can resolve your problem no issue. If you start blabbing online then we will walk away. The 600 excess was explained upfront and is due to the labour involved. You actually bought the machine from an old company I was a director of so legally i have no obligation. speak to you soonleave me a message ill be back in NZ in 4 weeks after my honeymoon

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-01-16 14:47:30
And besides , my motto is .....    Try Before You buy ---- Never believe the salesperson.

Does that sound like the advice someone with an ulterior motive would say ? No its when someone does not recommend you do that, that a flag should go up.

In my market,  I used to actually send people down to Power Plate to compare systems. Do you think Power Plate had the conviction to do that ?

I am also open about who I am, using my real name and not obviously a salesperson trying to drum up business. People are not stupid.

Al Posted On:2010-01-16 14:43:54

Is that correct Lloyd. Id watch that as the guy told me they will be supplying commercial stuff for vibe studios this year. vibe with a plus sign i think. Check it out.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-01-16 14:29:07
AL..

I think you will find that peoples biggest fear is people will see their fat wobbling. But that only happens on the cheap Pivotals ( like the ones you see on T.V. )

At least with Lineals , which most studios use, and companies like Elite sell versions of, you can not even see the person moving. But yes if you don't like working out in public then you would feel uncomfortable.

AL Posted On:2010-01-16 14:14:09

As I mentioned Glenda, there are a bunch on Trademe. They do the job for 800 thats your only option. I tried the studios and you look like a complete muppet

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-01-16 14:13:39
Glenda.....

Check out the visual review here so you can tell us what type of machine it is you want.

Then we will try to find something for you.

Glenda Posted On:2010-01-16 14:01:33

Can anyone please let me know where to buy a trainer from. I can afford up to  800 dollars, any comments on a good brand or where to buy from would be good. Regards Glenda

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-01-16 14:01:31
Ok, you are aware you were looking at a High Speed Pivotal, and Elite sell Medium Energy Lineals ?

Just so you are aware they are not remotely similar.

Check out the visual review here so you don't have to trust a salesperson, you will know more than them

AL Posted On:2010-01-16 13:55:00

it wont let me paste the linkand i stand corrected. it says vibrafit are the service agents.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-01-16 13:52:08
The top buys for Lineal machines, in this order are...

Second hand Vibro-Gym  ( no comparison )
Fit-Vibe ( Elite fitness )
Power Plate Pro and other larger plastic units
Small home machines

The only reason you can even get second hand Vibro-Gyms in N.Z. and not elsewhere is because we imported tons of them and then brought out a larger model. Everywhere else in the world it is still the best you can buy.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-01-16 13:46:04
Put up the link, because it is not coming up under any search I do.

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-01-16 13:36:21
Sorry cant see a Vibra-Fit . Is that the actual brand name ?

AL Posted On:2010-01-16 13:28:53

Lloyd Shaw Vibra-Train Posted On:2010-01-16 12:59:12
Tom....

In all my years I have never gone after someone that didn't deserve it and I do research situations. And I have gotten peoples money back or managed to help them. I do not mind people checking on my reputation, and I stand by it.

So yes I might be the last option, and not the most PC, but at least people have that option.
